Just turned 50. Mom to 32 year old daughter; 15 year old son; 2 boxers; 6 cats. My husband is very ill and disabled so pretty much it's all on me. He's had 42 surgeries; is on TPN feeding through a tunnel PICC in his chest, had a stroke a couple months back, heart problems..etc. Major stress! I work 60-70 hours a week and it's nights so basically I have no life. I have struggled with my weight for most of my life. My dad used to call me butterball! Yea real self esteem booster! I lost weight in my 20's, down to 95...but partying hard. Obviously that had to stop. I've never been one to worry so much about how I look to others. As long as I like myself. Over the last several years though I've begun to hate looking in mirror...I'm disgusting. My husband says I'm not and he loves me no matter what..bless him. Anyway, my mom passed at age 58 due to a massive heart attack and she was obese, over 300 lbs. I'm not there but I'm sure given time I could have been there. In the last three years I've put on probably 50 lbs working nights. I usually eat once a day, around midnight. I'm too tired to eat when I get home in the morning. Just before I turned 50 I realized that I don't want to be dead in 8 years like my mom was at 58. I don't want to leave my family. Myself, my brother and sister are all obese. I weighed the least, but suffice it to say it was not healthy! My sister began a diet and we were discussing it and ended up setting a mutual goal that one year from March 2014 we would go on a shopping spree because we'd be so thin and hot and need new clothes. From this, a diet was born!!! My goal is to lose 100 lbs. and weigh in at 126 which is what I feel was my ideal weight. My husband is not thrilled, thinks that's too thin, but we'll see. Honestly, if I got back around 140 I think I'd be quite happy. That's pretty much it in a nutshell!!
