Living outside of the small town of Wolf Creek, I am up in the mountains and off the electrical and phone grid. I grew up here in Montana, and have done lots of fishing, hiking, and hunting. I am also a competitive shooter (USPSA, 3Gun) and need to lose weight so I can move faster and start winning some matches!

3 mile race
Now that sounds like fun and darn close too. Smile If you are currently running at least a mile, figure that you can slow down a bit and keep that steady pace for the distance. The tendency in races is to speed up, especially around faster runners.

Still too muddy up here in Wolf Creek to even begin trail running yet..

Kettlebells are an excellent workout. I had heard that they help with flexibility, and strengthening muscles you may not normally use. After a week I was having much less problems with my rotator cuff (shoulder), and my back too. I have just worked them into my regular routine which follows Crossfit, just really basic.
