Hi. My name is Brenda, I'm 35 yrs old, married 3 yrs ago, no kids or plans of kids (by choice).
I have an amazing husband and close family, had a wonderful childhood, have never really been through anything too traumatic in my life. I have general anxiety disorder with occasional panic attacks (which is thankfully mostly under control).
My problem...I love food (and I'm lazy). I was a chubby baby, toddler, kid, teen and all the way into my adulthood. I've never been a "normal" size. I lost a bit of weight over 10 yrs ago when I went to a gym every day and went clubbing 3 nights/week. Since then, I haven't really tried..and unfortunately just kept gaining. I tried all different kinds of diets, but couldn't stick to them. One day about a month ago I looked into weight watchers (I finally decided I needed to do something about my weight/health) but it was too expensive. My sister told me she was joining T.O.P.S here and I decided to join too...best thing I ever did!
I am happily not on a diet, but changing the way I eat (what and how much) every day. I haven't felt deprived, and I can see this as a life change. I'm being reasonable and know that I gained over many yrs, so it will be slow coming off. My husband is supportive and changing with me.
I'm following weight watchers points and keeping track of my daily calories/fat intake.
So far, so good! I'm thankful to my friend Carol for telling me about this site. It has helped tremendously and I'll continue to use it daily.
