I am a 48 year old married mother of 2 amazing daughters, 20 & 17. After an adult lifetime of yoyoing, I succeeded with Weight Watchers and my mantras have been "Enjoy the journey, not just the destination" - don't miss out on stuff while you're losing, find workarounds and live along the way - you never want to look back and regret the time you spent if you've been depriving yourself. And "Fall down 7 times, get up 8" - moderation isn't always the easiest mindset, esp if you're an all or nothing character, but most of the time I'm managing a liveable balance. But there will always be times when I blow it, and not letting them run too far too long is the key. Unfortunately some depression over my nest emptying caused me to regain some 21lb of the 50 I lost, but I finally went back to WW to sort it out and have nearly lost it all again. Tracking works for me, it keeps my attention on what's what!

back and stomach cramps when you first start dieting - is it normal?
At 68kg you were hardly what I'd call fat! And to lose 4 kg in 8 days is a LOT! I agree with Shazzyb that your intake is probably too low. Yes you might drop a lot of weight quickly, but your metabolism will be in starvation mode, so that when you do eat anything it will store it as fat against the next drought.

What do you have to be thankful for in life
...And my ability ( sorry, last post sent before finished!) to be active. When I was 14 I was told I would end up in a wheelchair if I didn't have a big op to straighten my spine. So now ok my body isn't a thing of great beauty, but I'm not in a wheelchair and I can do all sorts of activities. When I'm out walking I just feel so grateful, I'm so lucky. Sure, sometimes I get down vanity-wise and wish I had a beautiful figure and back... but then I remember the alternative and it's not so bad after all!

What do you have to be thankful for in life
My family above all. And my health. Every day I wake up and it's still a buzz to notice I'm still slim ( like overnight I'm going to pop out again like the Nutty Professor!)

Start Weight
I'm curious to know if this will work for me as I started my diet in November at one weight, then when I changed the 'diet' detail to show I was on weight watchers, it started me a new ticker! So sadly my ticker doesn't show the full weight I've lost ( tho it is all there in my weight history) I only noticed the 'change your start weight' recently but am hesitant to try it in case it messes my ticker up again!

How Often Do you weigh yourself?
I am weighed once a week before dinner at WeightWatchers on a Wednesday, & I weigh myself at home on the Wii stark naked first thing on a Saturday morning, which gives me some motivation for the weekend, whichever way the result goes! I threw out my bathroom scales, too easy to get obsessed with over-frequent weighing. If you are someone who feels they absolutely MUST weigh every day, the Libra app on Android (and likely other platforms too) is a great tool for plotting trend rather than the exact graph, so the daily fluctuations are taken into account and (hopefully!) less disheartening. I use this app for my weekly weigh in, you don't have to do it daily but it might help those that do to keep from discouragement. Being a healthy weight is, of course, a good thing and to be aimed for, but don't let it take over your life to the exclusion of all else - you have to LIVE along the way!
