I'm 24 and married. Vegetarian. Love dogs, horses, and my life! Full time college student and soon to be EMT. Yay! In the last two years I have had an excess 20-something lbs sneak up on me and I hope to use the site as a motivational tool to reach my UGW of 130 lbs. I'm a very active person for the most part considering that I have four dogs, three horses and one husband to keep up with. We live on our small 5 acre ranch in the Mojave desert of Southern Cali. I like having a lot going on. Though, I am starting to realize that being so involved with other things, I have been giving myself too little attention. I plan to turn that around starting now. Next year, I hope to start competing with my mare in long distance events. I am using the "couch to 5k" interval running program to become a stronger rider and to gain stamina. I am not particularly overweight but I am not at my personal best. That's my goal; to be at my personal best in all aspects of my life.

Peace!

Technical Question????
How do I delete recipes from my cookbook??? I messed up and entered the same recipe twice, but one is incorrect... I tried to delete it through editing but it's not working... Help, this really bugs me.

Workout DVDs that don't bother the neighbors below :)
Pilates, for sure! You may think that lying around on your back isn't going to get the job done, but on the contrary. I toned up super fast when I first started using the workout, not to mention I discovered muscles that I didn't even know I had. LOL. Yoga is also great if you can. It's a bit tricky at first and I found it easiest to use a yoga instructor for a couple months, until I was confident... especially when you get into the more intense yogas.

Definitely, pilates tho!

The Love of my life...
My beautiful Arabian mare has brought me so much happiness. No matter how hard things get, I can always count on her to turn my day around.

Question?
Just look up the "Big Breakfast" diet. I'm not sure if its on here, but you certainly can Google it. It bases it's whole idea off starting the day with the bulk of your intake and then not so much as the day progresses. Of course, they want you to eat meat and I would never suggest that, maybe a nice tofu scramble. The danger that you put yourself in by waiting, is possibly overeating at the end of the day or just simply making bad choices because of your hunger speaking. I used to fall into that cycle more than I cared to... Then it leaves you with the feeling of failure, rather than success. I have a hard time myself trying to follow this, but I've known a lot of trainers who had success with it. Doesn't hurt to see if its what may work with your body.

Question?
To the original question posted ~ I am also veg and have been for awhile now, tho much stricter than what you said you were. About restricting thru the day and then loading at night: you should eat the bulk of your calories earlier in the day and cut back as the day goes on. The goal being that you would have burned up the majority of what you've eaten. If you wait until late in the day, when you are about to go to bed, then you are waiting until your metabolism is at its slowest. Also, you could try not to eat anything after 6 or 7pm. Hope this helps, good luck!
