July 23,2010 I was hit be a car while riding my motorcycle. I don't remember the accident but I have been told that I was recessitated on site, while my left leg was broken, the tibia smashed into 15 small bone fragments that they had to screw together to have the body rebuild the missing bone. My left knee was gone, there was a small bone fragment and that was it so fingers crossed by the doctor he hoped my body would repair that also. My face had road rash on it and my left hip was sore when I awoke. My left shoulder looked like an elephant had done a tap dance on it but nothing was jammed or broken. My head, well thats a interesting thought as it bounced down the road as I slid to a stop on the road, has brain damage in the memory area. You h ave to tell me about 100 times before I finally remember or do what my daughter at 19 does.....sends a text and then she figures I will remember, the problem with this philosophy is that I need to remember she sent the text to be able to read it and remember what ever it is telling me about lol.

So now 3 years later I can walk slowly and will never be able to run 4 miles again, I am lucky if I run 4 steps. I don't do stairs very well as my knees don't bend like they should. I have had 4 surgeries on the left lower leg and after travelling a month in India my specialist says to me that BOTH knees now require surgery to fix the issues at hand.

Oh and what I forgot to tell you is I struggled alone for the most part. My common law hubby walked out 6 months after the accident taking my daughter (he's not her dad) and the dog with him. I was left with my friend Lin and her hubby and Jack and Mike although Jack and Mike were not able to help much they texted me during the evenings on Facebook. So there I was ........ sleeping in a hospital bed in the middle of my living room all by myself no one to talk to so food became my friend.

Now here I am open and exposed to you the world.

you can buy several protein powders that are made for diabetics at the health food store. You can add these to water or whatever you choose to drink. Good luck to you.
