Coaches are taught that people can know what to do, but if there is no action then there is no forward movement.

I've been at fatsecret for a year and I've observed a few things.

1. The people who post continually and participate in more than one group + challenges are more likely to lose

2. People who log into fatsecret more than once a week are most likely to lose weight or at least, not gain more, than those who only log in once or twice a month.

3. Loging in appears to help people avoid cheating and keep on goal.

4. People who log in their food and exercise are most likely to succeed in the long-term. This may be due to the fact that they are less likely to quit.

As long as you try, and try again, you will never fail. You never lose. The only way to truly fail is to quit.

So true - I am one who needs to start logging in my intake again. Once I was on Atkins and had no appetite and ate like 800 calories - which I know was not good, at it was the last time I had journaled and someone saw it like eight months later and messaged me and freaked out about my intake - not looking at the date! lol.
My name is GlennM- Hi! I was quite overweight about ten years ago for my height. I am thin now. I have only Atkins to thank for making me trim again. Stick with this diet long-term everyone if you can. It works! Now I'm doing Calorie
Count as maintenance. Thanks for any and all support.

Don't be too quick to jump to conclusions about calorie intake. My doctor said that I was 'good' on 500 calories. I was eating about 6 - 8 cups of food a day. I ate healthy foods and no carbs. He said that my hair wasn't falling out, my nails were good. I had energy. He didn't suggest that I eat that low all the time, but he said my body would tell me when to increase the calories.

I do find journaling keeps me from eating less...

Hi everyone! Im new to the site and I hope it helps me to learn some self control. I dont have a support system and everyone around me seems to not care that I am putting forth the effort to become healthy. Cant wait to start seeing some progress.
