Very Low Calorie Diets

I've been experiencing hair loss after 2-3 weeks post-hcg. Dr. put me on supplements but said it should stabilize and grow back after 4-6 weeks. Has anyone experienced anything like this? I really like this diet and want to do another round, but not at the expense of my hair.

I have completed two rounds and lost a TON of hair...my hiar is VERY thin - not a good look. . I am hoping mine grows back SOON!!!!!!!!!!

It might be an Iron deficiency, u need to snack on food which are high in Iron, like beef.

I went to a dermatologist about it when I lost a great deal of weight and hair years ago. I wasn't on hcg, but lost 80 lbs very quickly on Jenny Craig. The doctor told me that losing weight, like any major change in your system, is a stressor, and your body reacts by dropping hair. He assured me that it would come back, and it did. So, I don't think it is the HCG, just the weight loss causing it.

My hairdresser recommended the Nioxin shampoo, conditioner and scalp treatment to help minimize hair loss. It's expensive, and I started using it about 5 weeks prior to beginning the Optifast program, so my hair and scalp would get the nutrients to keep from experiencing hair loss.

Already a week on Optifast, and my hair is the same (it was thinning to start with, and I didn't want to go completely bald!) but my eyelashes are falling out like crazy.

I will have to invest in some of the shampoo. I want to start my 3rd round of HCG/weight loss but have been putting it off due to the HAIR issue.

My daughter and I both lost alot of hair after our first round (I even lost eyebrows and lashes, talking about not a good look!) but my naturopath supplemented me with iodine and it has all grown back really nicely. I have done 2 more rounds since then with NO hair loss at all.
