Just found this group. I started my journey to lose 108 lbs. on January 9. Once I had decided to do it it took me a few months to actually start, but now, 4 months along, I am so glad I did. So far I have lost 47 lbs. It seems slow to me, but I am told it is the best way to do it. I had researched several diets plans (including surgery) and had past history with Weight Watchers and Adkins. Both of those are great diet plans but I am over 50 and needed a new lifestyle plan. I decided to count calories and exercise and purchased the Pink Method. It has a 3 tiered exercise program and full eating plan. I modified the eating plan to suit me (which means I eat the foods they recommend but not the quantity nor do I follow the daily menu) and do the exercies for about 30 min. 6 days a week. I eat 6 very small portions a day, usually 1 cup in size. I am trying to stay between 500 - 700 calories per day. Sometimes I eat more, but not often. Since starting this diet I have a much higher energy level, that 2:00 energy drop no longer happens! I have a job that has me sitting most of the day so every break I try to walk and usually manage to get in 30 minutes of walking per day. I feel that this routine is something I can live with for the rest of my life, adding calories when I've reached my goal weight. I like this plan, I never feel hungry and don't put any limitations on the types of food I eat, I only count calories, which keeps me away from the foods that are no good for me! My doctor just said to keep doing whatever I am doing because my brush with diabetes is now over, my cholestrol is dropping and everything else looks great! I was told by many people that counting calories is tedious and won't work, but this website is so easy to use and I can access it on my computer, phone and ipad! It's why this plan is doable for me!

I'm curious how you eat so few calories. Right now I'm eating around 1800 calories and it's hard to eat below that. I feel like I'm starving. What kind of exercises do you do? I was starting a running program but put it on hold for medical issues. Now I'm ok to start exercising again I'm going to start running again. Since I want to run I don't think I can eat so few calories. I'd probably gain weight instead. I do want to try to eat below 1800 calories though. Maybe go down to 1600 or 1500 to start with. I use the calorie count app to count my calories as well. I think it's doable. It makes it easier to not eat bad stuff. I don't want to add it to my calories on the app. I'd feel bad seeing it there.

Farr I am sure that the only way to eat between 500 and 700 calories a day(and not be hungry) is to only eat lean meats and mostly vegetables, raw or cooked...If you would stick to chicken, fish and turkey products and snack on raw vegetables (including salads with lo cal dressing) then use cooked vegetables for meals you would not have to count calories at all....No breads, potatoes, cereal, rice or sweets or crackers for at least the first 2 weeks. Then add in whole grain oatmeal with blueberries and nuts..., High fiber wraps to sub for bread.... Barillia plus pasta or dreamfields pasta. Even some whole grain brown rice and sometimes sweet potatoes ...So many recipies that can be made with these ingredients....and so healthy....I have lost 30 lbs and am never hungry...I carry cut raw veggies with me everywhere and snack all the time...I also drink at least 4 to 6 bottles of water a day and have given up soda completely...It works for weight loss and to ward off diabetes and heart problems....The cravings for carbs will pass after the first week...

Jorge Cruise writes in The Bellyfat Cure that sugar is the enemy. Watch out for sugar occurring naturally in foods, not just the added sweeteners. He says the best intake level is about 15g of sugar per day. (There's about 4g in a teaspoon). Sugar is what stimulates insulin production, and insulin is necessary for fat production and storage in the adipose cells, especially around the midsection. Eating sugary food sends your insulin up and makes you hungry right after you eat.
