I'll be visiting my brother in Arizona (I'm in Idaho) next month and I'm not sure how to stay on plan. Any suggestions?

Just follow the program like you do at home. Take your food with you, and make good choices. I am going on a cruise on May 24th and taking all of my MF food with me. And will eat my lean and green at 6 pm. You can also do the 4 and 2 program. You can also split your lean and green in to 2 meals or eat some greens at lunch and eat the rest at dinner with your lean. If you go for drinks, drink sparkling water with lemon or lime in a fancy glass. I decided to have coffee after dinner instead of desert. My health coach said also if I chose to have desert, maybe follow the 3 bite rule. 3 bites and done. But I won't go there. Take plenty of portable foods, bars, bites, pretzels, puffs, etc, Carry extra's with you. If you walk a lot or do lots of exercise while visiting, I know someone who ate an extra bar or meal, while she was in PARIS of all places, and she lost while she was away, because they did a lot of walking, and when she felt tired or weak, she had an extra meal. Just one though. Don't forget to get all of your water in too. I hope this helps you. MF is a great plan and works. If you look at my chart you'll see! I am living proof. I was on every diet known to man before I turned to MF it was my last resort!

Thanks! So far the plan has worked great for me and I want to stick with it. I like the idea of having sparkling water and didn't think about possibly needing an extra meal. One thing I'm really worried about is my brother criticizing my plan.

The sparkling water is an excellent suggestion and adding a lime or lemon slice makes it more special!
Regarding your brother, maybe telling him in advance you are following a special healthy plan which is working for you to achieve your goal of achieving optimal health. Tell him how much you would appreciate his support. Lot's of people are negative about family members on "diets". Explain that this is not a diet but rather a lifestyle change which has the benefit of losing weight. Most importantly all of you medical 'counts" will improve over time.

I wouldn't worry about your brother, wait until he sees your results. You are down quite a bit already, and it will show. Like Old said, you can explain that all your vitamins and nutrients are already incorporated in to the meals you eat so it is a Healthy plan.

I saw one of my son's today that hasn't seen me in a few months and he just couldn't believe how I look. He said, What ever your doing, It's working. Keep doing it. He was amazed at how much my face has changed. I haven't been this weight in 20 years and he just isn't used to seeing me like this. Smile

You can also tell your brother that you are on a specialized eating program before you go to visit him to set his expectations and tell him a little about it. He can look it up online himself if he cares, the successes are amazing. Tell him about Dr Anderson and his Take shape for Life program. You are not just getting, you are getting Healthy.
Relax and just have fun, but don't lose sight of your goal.

Thanks for the comments. I definitely think I will tell him ahead of time...that would help so I'm not telling him when he's planning a meal or in front of a large group (a lot of other people will be there too).

I am the Gram, that is awsome that your son could see your results. I love that! My husband has been talking about how much smaller I look every day and one thing I've noticed is although I'm the same weight I was a couple years back, my old clothes fit better than before, so I must be losing in different areas. It is a great program.
