About this Group:
We Latinos and Latin descendants tend to be small and voluptuous.We have a hard time loosing inches on the lower section of the body,and also tend to have a pear shaped figure.This group is for all Latin Americans and people with similar challenges, who want to share their problems and struggles with weight, and share their advise and help each other.
1)Cardiovascular activity everyday for at least 45 minutes.Our body burns energy (sugar) during the first 20 minutes. It only starts burning fat after the first 20 minutes.The intensity of the workout doesn't matter as long as you keep a steady pace and don't stop moving.
2)Try to do some toning exercises for your lower body (it doesn't have to be much).
3)Try to eat low fat meals, and healthier snacks. For example, instead of eating regular Doritos eat the baked ones.
4)Don’t deprive yourself of the foods you like, but consume them moderately. For example if you are craving a chocolate, don’t deprive yourself because then you are going to reach a point in which your level of anxiety will be very high and therefore, you’ll binge on it. Instead, buy a bar of chocolate (the ones divided in small squares) and keep it in the fridge. Whenever you get cravings, eat just a square of the chocolate.savor it instead of just swallowing it.
5)Try to limit your intake of sodas and drink them only on weekends.For the rest of the week stick to calorie-free drinks, or better yet,natural fruit juices and lots of water.
6) If you have overweight problems don’t stay home. If you do, you’ll probably eat more and will feel worse. Go out and have fun and make the journey for a better self a fun one.
7) Report your struggles and your slips as well as your progress and achievements!
