Hey Everyone! I am with you TravisCW - hate the gym and dealing with others. . .love the privacy of my own home - plus it's the first thing I do in the morning - so NO time to talk myself out of it!!!
I have a Golds Gym Treadmill that I just discovered was 7 years old and still going strong! I also have an eliptical and a TV so that I can do DVD workouts. FatSecret is my main tool though - it is WHY I lost my weight!

The most important room in my house is my gym...lol, nothing too special, but I spend between one and six hours in it a day. I have a commercial grade nordic track treadmill, both an upright stationary bike and recumbent, dumbbells like crazy, olympic weight set with 650+ lbs, and an LCD TV right in front of it all!

Started extremely obese, now I am 6'4"201lbs...feeling great and love my equipment!

Hi everyone. I just joined the group and would be interested in recommendations for home exercise equipment. Right now we have none. We've been considering a treadmill, elliptical or stationary bike. I do tend to have problems with my feet and legs if I do a huge amount of walking. orthotics help considerably but aren't the total answer.

Hi guys just joined the group. I have been using a Bowflex XTreme SE 2 for about 9 months. I always say nothing beats a real gym, but I get a great workout and most importantly, haven't stopped after 6 months, like with gym. I also have a Weslo Momentum elliptical, yes the one KMart sells lol. Needed a machine with a small footprint and this happened to be the machine that was the best fit, (needed to be close to the living room tv). Surprised that after 2 years it runs like new. Over all the most important thing I have used is FatSecret.

I started on IPhone Aps at almost 200 Lbs 5 months ago, was solid but I felt sloppy. Now I am 176 with a much lower body fat percentage, around 15 % or a bit lower.

Hey all - I'm a grad student so I have the luxury of the school gym. I love the cardio machines but can get bored easily. Looking for ideas on how best to mix up the workouts and keep things fresh, since that's the best way to stay committed.

Hello Everyone,

I have many different home excercise machines, Total gym, Ab Lounge, Tony little Gazelle, Body by Jake Tower 200, and some free weights. I have been competing in weightlifting meets and Strongman events for 3 years now. I need to get into a lower weight division before I continue to compete. I am focusing on weight loss until I reach my goal of 220 pounds. I have 70 pounds to go. I just got the tower 200 and its awesome. It really gives me a great workout in a short amount of time. This website really makes you accountable for everything you eat and do. My issue is the equipment I have is really not listed in the excercise section. So I am picking ones I think are as close to it as I can get. Any suggestions?

I am a fitness gadget junky who is sort of on the wagon now. I will now buy a new piece of equipment when I know I can use it. I have a great treadmill which I am now using once I got all the Christmas decorations, boxes and storage off of it. Since I have been sitting on my butt for way too long, I am now working back into exercise. And geez, am I out of shape and weak. But I am truly wanting the TRX system and the AirRebounder.

New to this forum. Short on space and cash, so any "home gym" has to be modest, and purchased used or home-built. Thankfully, the previous owners of my home left me two items. A Pro-Form Crosswalk treadmill and a Health Rider. They had been kept in a barn and were filthy. I figured out the Health Rider on my own, gave it a total cleaning and lubed the obvious places. The rep counter needed a watch battery and voila! There it is. It sits on my covered back porch. I used it 20-40 minutes twice a day five years ago and that kick-started my initial weight loss.

The treadmill needed more work. I found the Treadmill Doctor website and followed their instruction for cleaning and electrical test. After lubing the belt and it still sticking and grabbing, I gave in and plunked down $90 for a new belt. That fixed it.

I also bought a 3 foot EMT pipe at Home Depot and trying to figure out where to mount it in the house as a chin-up bar.

I rarely use either, as I grew strong enough to now do running outdoors.

What I need to do more than anything else now is build my core. The gym has a machine you sit in and grab handles and you twist, and lift weights...any way there's a home machine that'll do that which I might find used? Also, what are good core exercises for using things like kettleballs or swiss balls? Think cheap.

Thanks!

Hello! My name is Cortney. I'm a gym junkie. I'm usually in a class, i love spinning. I wish I had a spin bike at home. If I can't get to a class that's when I hop on a piece of equipment. Treadmill and stair master are my favorite. I do hit up the elliptical every now and then to mix it up. I have a bowflex at home that I have never ever used. I'm going to start tomorrow! Gotta watch the DVD first Smile

Hi all. New here and looking for like minded individuals for motivational and training help. I received a TG from sister that never used it and can't find manuals or info. I plan to put it to good use getting back to a healthy condition. I say condition rather than weight as all recommeded weights are not the same and may not be a healthy weight for a persons frame or size. I also like to bike around town, parks and trails. Anyone in the Atlanta (West/Austell/Mableton/Downtown area) looking for a riding buddy, let me know.

My friend gave me an elliptical trainer,I'm picking it up tomorrow. Been doing OK on my weight loss, but my skin and muscles are needing toning. I thought I would loose the weight and then start exercising, but since this came up, maybe I can start a few months earlier!

I exercise at home because it is convenient, and I happen to have some really really old equipment my parents used to use. I have a really old Gym-o-Rama total body gym and an old Pro Form Crosswalk treadmill that is the best investment to my fitness I have ever made.
I lift weights, I do bootcamp circuit training, I run and walk on my treadmill. I want to get better at running on my treadmill because I just ran a 5 mile race after training outdoors, and want to stay active over winter.

Hi Everyone! I like to work out at home because I'm self-concious. I have a treadmill (which I use the most), staionary bike, an Air climber, home gym for weights (my husband mostly uses this), and I really want to get an elliptical but I just don't have the room for it. Also have various workout DVD's (because I have a weakness for informercials). I'm focusing more on getting fit and toned than I am losing weight. I figure if I can get my body toned up, the weight will regulate itself.

I like to walk on the treadmill every day of the week but usually only get about 5 days a week in.
I use a BodyBugg to help keep me motivated and accountable.
My Daily Goals: burn 1600 calories, walk 10,000 steps and be active for 1.5 hours.

Hello, I'm Rekni I work full time outside the home, and have 5 children and an amazing husband. Okay so only 2 kiddos are at home now.... I'm a homebody and love to be close to family and friends. The elliptical has to be my most favorite machine at the gym.. I was driving home the other day and saw my dream piece of equipment. It's called an elliptiGo. OMG I WANT ONE... But for now I'm researching at home elliptical machines. In my head I can run for miles... In reality my shins hate running... The elliptical is the perfect fit for me...

Hi everyone, I have been going to the gym for years while I was in the marine corps. When I got out I made a home gym consisting of a treadmill, bench, dumbbells, and for entertainment a television. Of course my dream gym would also include wall straps, a cybex arc trainer, and a mounted dip bar. Unfortunatedly I have neither the mullah or the space to set up my dream gym so for now it will stay a dream. I joined this website to keep track of my calories and workouts to lose the 35 pounds that have creeped up on me since I got out of the MC.
Good luck everyone on your weight loss.

Hi all you other fitness equipment junkies! Smile I guess I'm in the right place. I have a treadmill at home that is in the back of the house in front of a 65 inch tv (the old rear projection type that is LARGE, my hubby bought a flat screen for the living room so I inherited the big one for the workout room). I have all my dvds in there and I have net flix and apple tv on that tv, and I LOVE to get on the treadmill and watch a good movie! I won't let myself continue watching the movie if I get off the treadmill so it's usually a good motivator especially if it's a good movie! I also have the Wii connected to that tv and can do the Wii Fit and other Wii workout videos and feel like I'm right there with them!
HOWEVER.......I also have a gym membership and the gym is less than a mile from my house so it's very convenient to get in there. I've found that I push myself more when I'm on the treadmill at the gym. The competitiveness in me, makes me want to keep up or go faster/longer than the others around me!
And then there's SPINNING class! I LOVE that class!!!! I used to have a stationary bike back in the workout room, but I stopped using it and we eventually got rid of it. Then I discovered spin class at the gym, it's awesome to be in such a loud class, in the dark, pushing yourself!!!! I can't wait for virtual connections so we can be running together with someone across the country in the same program! You know it's coming soon!!!! It's already somewhat of a reality in the X-Box 360, but I think when we have it built into our gym equipment it will be pretty cool! Just plug in your friends online name and the two of you can run through virtual Hawaii for your morning run! Same thing with the bikes!
Fitness equipment and technology is AWESOME!

I have a Mini Curves set up in my basement. Elliptical, Gazelle, Weight Bench, Trampoline, Hand Weights, Shake Weight, Mini Stepper, Ab Roller, Ab Circle Pro, Supreme Pilates Machine. Resistance Bands, Exercise Ball. Upstairs I have the Wii Fit and NFL Training for the Wii. I want a Power Tower, and a Total Gym. Then I MIGHT be satisfied. LOL

I have been using the Wii Fit and Just Dance 3 the most. Need to start using my "Curves" more.
