Arugh....*&^*@#! What the heck. I think my scale is broke. Not a pound in the last 3 weeks. I have received lots of good advice, but I believe i am following the rules of induction correctly. I heard stay away from the atkins products, stay away from artificial sweeteners, stay away from processed foods, eat more, etc. but no where in induction does is stay to stay away or count calories. At least not that i could find. Limit yes, which i do. two splendas a day, maybe 1 atkins bar a week, and a mix of fresh and processed meats and some cheeses. I have over 100 lbs to lose and they just are not coming off.

HELP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Kim, I took a look at your food diary and from what I can see you're not coming close to your RDI most days. The program suggests 2100/day for you and maybe you don't want to go that high, but most days you're under 1700 and some days are much lower. Your body may be thinking it's starving and consequently is holding on to every ounce to protect you. Remember our bodies are designed to survive and are generally resistant to weight loss. Cutting calories too low is counter-productive in the long run as your body will respond by lowering your metabolism to match the lower intake. Also, since you've already lost 12, your body may simply be taking some time to readjust before it will allow you to move on. Weight loss is never a linear process, you'll lose some, you'll stay the same, you may even gain a pound or two before losing again. That's just the way it goes. Hang in there, this really does work!!

I totally agree with Carol...try upping your calories to the 1700-1800 range for a week and see if that works.....I'd be willing to bet money that it will! You can do this! Hang in there!

Kim, I am in the same situaion you are... and have been told the same thing so as of today I am upping the amount of fat in my diet and calories too... its been hard for me because ever ything we have ever learned is that high fat and calories is bad for us, but I am retraining my brain to this because I HAVE to do this, and I know you feel the same, so lets do it together! Lets hangin there and just stick with it and it will work!

I AM IN THE SAME BOAT. DIDN'T THINK I WAS EATING ENOUGH CALORIES, SO I AM WORKING ON GOING UP ON THE CALORIES. I DON'T REALLY USE THE FOOD DIARY ON THIS SITE, SO LOOKING OVER MY JOURNALS WON'T HELP. I JUST NEED TO ADD IN MORE FAT AND VEGGIES, IT'S JUST HARD TO DO SO... ANY SUGGESTIONS?
