Hello everyone!,
My name is Mandi and I am new here. I'm 32, married, have a gorgeous 4 year old daughter. I tried Atkins last year and failed. Boo! This time I went out an bought the book and have read 8 chapters. I think I understand the diet better this time. Last time I was cooking without fats so I failed after a month on induction and actually gained 3 lb's. So anywho, I'm back and highly motivated. We are building a new house that has a major staircase. I got so tired going up and down the stairs when looking at the models. Our house will be done in September and don't want to be so tired moving in and figured the stairs will only help me to lose more! Yay! My husband and I also talked about having another kid when we move in and I can't be 128 lb's overweight and not having lost any weight from my first pregnancy. I am hoping you all will help me when I have questions and I promise to be there for you all!

Did I say today is my first day on Induction?

Wish me luck!

Thanks for reading: Mandi!

Welcome to Mandi and Everyone! I also am new here. Am just starting Atkins too and am highly motivated. Am following the diet at the Atkins website but prefer this one for support and weight graphs, etc. Past history tells me my weight loss will probably slow but am determined. Hoping to find some buddies and support here!

I am new also. Very excited to get this weight off for good! Have had a stressful year and the weight just piled on. I agree with what jutecup is saying about the aches and pains - need to get rid of that ASAP! Let's back each other, we can do it!

Hello to all us newbies! It's good to see so many new posts. I was disappointed when I started 3 weeks ago that there wasn't more talking and support on these sites. Looks like we've got a talkative, supportive group signing up now. Best of luck to all of us. We can do it!!

Hello, I have been on Atkins since Feb 12th, I am also on the atkins site, but I use this one to keep track of my foods, I like it better for it. I do have trouble keeping track of my post here, I will figure it out sooner than later, I hope! LOL!! I have lost 16 lbs & 11 inches so far. I was on atkins back in 2003 & lost 30 lbs, but life happened & now I need to lose a total of 65 lbs. I am a stress eater & I love sweets. I did find a Flour-less cake in a mug. I think it is pretty good, it lets me have cake again, the way I fix it, it has only 2.91 net carbs. Well good luck to everyone!!

I am newish to Atkins to . I am reading the original book and am noticing that all the stuff that experts are coming out with that they are'discovering' are actually all in the attains book.

I am concentrating getting my veggies, and have gone for watercress in cheese omelettes. I have shredded white cabbage when family are having pasta; I love the fact that there is always something i can have to eat. I am enjoying fish atm. Well done bella-64 you are doing really well.

I'm new to Atkins, too. Today is Day 7 for me and so far I've lost 3# and then gained 1# back. Now that I've entered everything I've been eating into this site for the past 7 days, I think I have a better idea of what I need to do. Maybe not. Smile I'm really hoping for the best with the Atkins diet. I am peri-menopausal - closer to menopause than not - and am on bHRT which has caused me to gain weight. Good luck everyone!

Hi I am new to this site, but not dieting lol. I am doing Atkins, and have been 7 weeks approximately. I have only lost 10 lbs, but I have some other medical issues that are making this difficult. However, I love the way I feel, and that the cravings are gone. So I am sticking with this.

I have found with a little creativity you can perpare any dish with very few carbs, and who doesn't like a piece of bacon and full fat salad dressing. I think I am in heaven.

Good luck to all with your individual journey's.
I can do this. No matter how long it takes, I will not cave to the sugar devil lol.

Hello everyone...I am new to the website, but not to Atkins. Did Atkins many years ago. It worked really well for me, but then went off f it, because of all the negative press behind it. One of my biggest regrets. I have tried many other diets since then with absolutely no results. Talk to to Dr about it and her advice was if it works for you then go for it cause being overweight is way worst for me than a low Carb diet. Started on Monday, today is day 4 and I am feeling great. Really glad to be back on this plan and ready to get thin and lose all the aches and pains. Hope we can all support each other.

Good luck to everyone!!

Welcome. Just take one day at a time; that is what I have to keep telling myself. Look at the foods that you are tempted with and ask yourself is it worth giving in and are you going to feel bad about it later. That helps me when my DH decides to order in fried rice!!!!
