The following was adapted from something I wrote to encourage a friend. I hope that someone else can get something out of it too. Loosing weight is not easy and there will be days we can read this and it will encourage, other days we will doubt. Either way God's Word is still true.
Do you remember your starting weight? Are you still there or worse above it? Do you recall your old anxiety or stress or are you there right now? For those of you who are doing better than you were, whatever that means to you, look back at where you have come from. Look back and see clearly what the Lord has done for you so far. For those of you in the mire look forward and up. You have searched for the Lord and for his strength and He wants you to keep searching (1 Ch 16:11). When you pray He will answer and encourage you by giving you the strength you need (Psa 138:3) for you can do all things with the help of Christ who strengthens you (Phil 4:13). Not only will He give you strength, but peace as well (Psa 29:11). Know that you can crush any enemy and overcome any obstacle (2 Sa 22:30). I pray that when you feel drained and tired that from His glorious, unlimited resources He will give you mighty inner strength through His Holy Spirit (Eph 3:16) and that the Lord Himself will be your Strength and your personal Song (Ex 15:2; Psa 118:14). It is when you are tired, worn out and weak that the Lord gives you power and strength (Isa 40:29). I have heard people pray, “Thank you Lord for what went wrong.” It reminds us that so that we would never think that it was our own strength and skill that accomplished what was good (Deu 8:17). Let us loose this weight with all the strength and energy that God supplies. Then God will be given the glory in everything through Jesus Christ. All Glory and power belong to him forever and ever. Amen (1 Pe 4:11)
The Lord is your strength and your song; He is your victory.
