Is there anybody out there 62, 63 in August...Haveing as hard a time as I am keeping weight off ?
I feel that you can't avoid aging , but can avoid looking your age by becoming overweight.
I was fine till 50. Now it is a daily battle with the scales.
I absolutly love Weight Watchers but need more support and good ideas.

Hi...am 62 and need to lose 50 lbs. Have lost 11 so far and still hard at it. Passed 50 and the weight began to pile on, along with low thyroid..what a task to achieve weight loss each week! Fortunately, I have a great sense of humor about being "chubby" and so will keep at it..ONCE MORE..until the job is done! Thanks!

I am having such a hard time. I am 65 yrs old but have been in good shape. I lost fifty pounds several years ago on ww. I gained it slowly back and over the last year I took care of my 90 yr old mother and gained a lot of it then. I am now trying to refocus and get myself back in shape. Although I exercise the weight does not come off. Did I mention I have hypothyroidism too? Oh yeah, that makes it even harder - but it is possible because I have done it before.

I joined a challenge yesterday, but to be honest, I'm not quite sure of how to do this. Do they give you memos along the way or do you just walk the 30 min. a day and complete. I thought since it was "Couch to 5K" I thought maybe there was some instructions on how much to walk and when to increase. Don't know I have never done this before.

have been walking on the treadmill now, I try to increase the incline ever so often, and also the pace so I can challenge myself some. I also have put some good fast paced music on while I walk and try to keep with the beat. time seems to go faster when I do the music along with the walking. anyother suggestions would be appreciated.

Hi Vicky, thanks for buddy thing. My goal weight is set because 135 would be a good BMI for my height I am 5"2 ( I am short too ) but if I reach my goal maybe I can shoot for 10 lbs less. I hoping this will be a life style change. I has always yoyo with my weight. A little about me I have five grandkids and 1 great grandson. My husband has four granndkids so together we have a big family. I wish you luck with your goal.

I need your support. I keep at 168 at age 70 and ofcourse am losing height so am now 5'2. Want to lose but have a hard time with will power. Love sweets. I have been walking twice a day which was helpful-no high blood pressure, but then summer came and I walked once if not at all. Am back at it again for fall. Need to say no to desserts, but it is hard. Good luck everyone. Keep me in mind.

Hi! I just turned 62 celebrated by cutting my long hair to a pixie bob and buying a new outfit. Shocked at the size I bought, that was in August, and its taken me til now to do some changing. I've been on weight watchers and became a life time member but life happens and seems no matter how hard I followed the plan I gained weight. Decided to do Atkins with my husband to shock my system even though I still brag about being a life time member of ww. I have to do something because next August I want to be back to my goal weight and burn these birthday cloths! Lets help each other.

Hi there ya'LL!! I am 63 and doing Low Carb. I'm new here and have been battling this weight thing for a while now. I quit smoking 5 years ago and quickly put on 30 lbs. I still haven't gotten rid of the excess...so here I go again. I joined Wt Watchers in January for the 3rd time and have learned that it just does not go well with my insulin resistant metabolism. I was hungry all the time thinking about the next snack...the next meal. So I have been on Low Carb for the last 2 weeks and for the first time, food is not on my mind all the time. No major weight loss yet but clothes are getting bigger. I think I can bump it up a notch by counting my carbs on here which is more accurate than my hand written note pad. Let's encourage each other and do this....big (((HUGS))) to all of you.

Hello Granchick, is there a particular low carb diet that you are following? We are the same age and I have the same problem. I am interested in hearing about what works for others. I love fatsecret for tracking....I find it one of the easiest I've used. Granchick wrote:Hi there ya'LL!! I am 63 and doing Low Carb. Hi Granchick and all the other low-carb ladies - Atkins and/or Wheatbelly do the trick I think - if I stay on them. I find the hardest part is the evening meal....i live alone most of the time and have little incentive to cook. So i wind up going out a lot. And there it is - PASTA!!!! I've managed a (bitter) divorce from bread and potatoes but pasta is my down fall.
One of the best tools for me is biblio-therapy! I read everybody's messages, re-read the books and articles, and it puts me "in the mood" to behave myself, with respect to carbohydrates. Now, if i could just find something to put me in the mood to exercise! DrLouise

Hello everyone. I have been trying to use this site for a couple of years now and have been successful to a point. I had dropped 16 pounds from Jan 11 to May 11 and then stayed there until sometime in the fall. I bagan to build a new house then and lost track of my tracking. I have put those pounds back on. I think I have moved some of them into muscle from working out and riding my bike in the summer but I still want the scale to say fewer pounds and I want to look at myself and like what I see. I don't think there are many men in this group but that is fine with me. I look forward to giving and getting with you all. Dan

Good morning all. Just weighed myself early this am, down 2 lbs. Forget that I was a member of this website, lol, they sent me an email reminding me to weighin. Still attending WW mtgs on Fri, am's. Not doing too bad. Started walking now that were in FL for the winter & crunches at night. Have set a small goal for before Christmas. Hope I make it. We can do this with support and inspiring stories from everyne. Hang in there, I've done this before, I can do it again, but I hate the term "yoyo dieter". I have 23 lbs to get back down to goal which I reached in 2006. Have a great day. Keep up the good work.
