Ok, I seem to having a hard time with the 'fitness' part and was thinking of using one of the shows on fit TV to workout with. What ones do you use?

Anybody break down and do the Insanity workout?

I really need to get a trainer, I have a limited # of items I currently do. I have to problems, I travel a lot and and I am on a very tight budget. Confused

I'm on Day 2 of Insanity and there's not a single part of me that doesn't ache - that's a good thing, right?

The problem with extremes is that they are a recipe for failure for most. Insanity and/or a restrictive diets are not wise IMO, because this change should be a lifestlye, not a quick fix. Do what you can handle for life.
Love your food or risk failure. No quick fixes, this is a lifestyle change. No extremes are needed just consistency.

I did Insanity for a month and did not lose a single pound. I definitely got stronger and was able to work out harder, but I wanted to see actual weight come off. If my clothes had gotten loser that would have been okay too, but they didn't. It is a really good work out though. A lot of people I know, go through the program over and over, so they can continue to build muscle and lose weight.

One question though...do you do any type of resistance training? If not, that could be your issue. Try doing at least 2 days of resistance training a week. You only need about 1/2 hour each time and you will see a lot of benefits. It doesn't have to be anything crazy either. You can put a few books in a backpack and go for a walk or go up the stairs slowly and deliberately to work your muscles. Also, do push-ups, sit-ups, lunges and squats. You can always use a workout band instead of using actual weights.

Hope this helps!!!

I tried Insanity but threw up after almost every workout. I was in the Army and didn't even have that problem. I'm a P90X gal myself. LOVE the weights. Nothing refines your body like heavy lifting.

Lots of dudes don't realize it but Pilates is an insanely good workout. It was designed by a German man for both men and women but mostly just women use it these days for reasons unknown. I ended up in a class once at the gym thinking it would we a cakewalk and it gave me a great workout. Most Pilates videos can be done in your living room. Knock out a 20 minute video (try Netflix) and then go walking for 40 minutes and you have a great workout with 20 minutes of sweat and the last 2/3rds easy, relaxed, calorie-burning enjoyment of a summer evening. Good luck!
