About / History
The Rice Diet Program first gained life in 1939, at Duke University, Durham, North Carolina with Dr Kempner treating his patients with renal disease and hypertension. From these beginnings, it has grown into a residential program to treat obesity, hypertension, diabetes and heart disease. Under its current management, Kitty and Robert Rosati (Dietitian and Cardiologist) have published the "Rice Diet Solution" (2006) to mirror what they provide at the clinic for those who want to follow the program at home.
