Have you tried calorie counting and still failed to lose weight? This probably means your body is not digesting food properly. On this diet, we go back to basics and eat ONLY foods which our body finds easy to digest.
On this diet, we eat real food. Real meaning whole, and mostly non-processed foods. We can eat: 1) eggs and lean meat, 2) unlimited vegetables and fruits, and 3) gluten-free whole grain bread products.
Why does the Atkins diet and other carb-restricting work? They work because average Americans eat too much wheat, refined sugar, and processed food. However, eliminating "good carbs" like fruit and whole grain rice leads to feeling unhealthy and foggy brained since our brains are wired to use glucose as our primary source.
On the Real Food diet, you can eat a moderate amount of carbs by eliminating overly processed foods and wheat, which is a recent food source for human beings and for many of us with PCOS, IBS, celiac, hypoglycemia and metabolic disorders harder to digest.

How To Follow The Real Food Diet:
|
|
1.) Eat lean meat, eggs, or fish for breakfast and dinner.
2.) Eliminate wheat based products. Stick to wheat-free, gluten-free breads such as Food for Life's line of products. Have 2-3 servings of whole grain, wheat-free muffins, tortillas, and breads each day.
3.) Eat fruits and veggies at least twice daily. 1 to 2 glasses of juice OK.
4.) Supplement with 1 to 2 servings raw nuts daily, when desired.
5.) Drink lots of fluids.

SlimChick's top tips
|
| 1. | Food for Life Gluten Free Products! Gluten Free English muffins, raisin pecan rice bread, etc are staples of this diet. Occasional use of Food for Life Ezekiel "sprouted grain" also OK a few times per week. These meals are tasty and healthy alternatives much easier to digest than wheat flour based breads. (Try experimenting with other oil free gluten free products.) | | 2. | For breakfast, try an egg over-easy with one slice of turkey bacon on a gluten free English muffin. For dinner, try 6 oz baked tilapia (fish) or 4 oz of lean steak. | | 3. | Fruit sorbets! Slurp one of these for lunch everyday: 1/2 cup frozen mango chunks, 1/2 cup frozen raspberries, 1/2 cup orange juice, blended. Try peaches and blueberries or strawberries and cherries to change things up. | | 4. | Chinese vegetables! Sunbird "beef and broccolli" sauce packets are very good with broccoli and mixed veggies, with or without meat. | | 5. | Wheat free and/or sprouted grain tortilla burritos! Try: Black beans, light sour cream, sliced avacado, olives, lettuce, and salsa wrapped with or without meat in an Ezekiel tortilla for lunch. | | 6. | Vitamin Water Zero with Truvia is a sweet way to get some extra vitamins with no added sugar or artificial sweeteners. :) |
