| 1. | Watch sodium content in processed foods, when possible home-cooked or uncooked/raw/fresh foods. | | 2. | Drink lots of water! Not necessarily 8-8 oz glasses, but enough to sustain and hydrate your workouts. | | 3. | Limit your refined carbohydrates. Stick to fresh fruits and vegetables for carbs. | | 4. | Protein options are tofu, tempeh, and seitan. All are acceptable with tempeh and seitan preferred if you have soy concerns. | | 5. | Almond milk is delicious! I recommend for drinking, and coconut milk is great for baking. | | 6. | Add Chia powder or Flax seeds to salads or oatmeal to get Omega-3 fatty acids. Don't eat too many nuts as they are high in fat and Omega-6 fatty acids which are not healthy in high quantities. |
