Jeanette's VSG Diet


 Summary:

This is the dietary plan given to me by my surgeon. I do not recommend anybody trying to eat only 600-800 calories a day without having had weight loss surgery (I had the vertical sleeve gastrectomy). However, it is a low carb/high protein diet, which anybody can do.

 How To Follow Jeanette's VSG Diet:

Remember to eat protein first. If you can not meet your protein goals with food alone, supplement with protein shakes. Just remember to stay within the protein and carb guidelines if you haven't had surgery (I lost 60 pounds following this diet pre-surgery but did not eat 600-900 calories, I ignored calories for carbs and protein) and within the calorie guidelines as well if you are post surgery.

On August 18, 2010 I had a vertical sleeve gastrectomy for weight loss. I've been a 'slow loser' (which is fine as long as I am losing). I'm hoping using fat secret on a regular basis can help to keep me accountable in following my dietary program.

Jeanette_T's top tips

1.Keep carbs below 50 grams per day.
2.Keep calories between 600 and 900.
3.Don't go overboard on fat, but don't avoid it (most low fat stuff tastes like crap anyway).
4.Get a minimum of 80 grams of protein a day.
5.Eat your protein first, then veggies, then anything else.
6.Drink lots of water!
