 How To Follow Spike Diet:

The Spike Diet is available on Amazon.
The principles are finding your RMR and eating your base rate for 6 days followed by one Spike Day which is 2X your RMR, to ensure a surplus. The Spike Day lets your brain know you are not in the middle of a famine but there is plenty of food around.

russellb97's top tips

1.Enjoy your Spike Day. It is a free day and is meant to refresh your mind and body. Guilt is not allowed on this Diet.
2.Use Resting Metabolic Rate for your calorie goals, that way activities and exercise are a bonus and will create a deficit.
3.Metabolism is the key to fat burning. Our body will use fat for energy in a calorie deficit while we are resting.
4.You will feel more full with foods higher in protein and fiber.
5.Avoid simple carbohydrates like white starches and sugars to avoid blood sugar spikes. Never have sugar on an empty stomach.
6.Starvation Mode, cravings, and diet plateau's are all related. We store fat for a reason and that reason is survival. When we use our energy reserves our brain plays dirty to get us to stop.

About / History

I developed this idea while I was losing 100lbs several years ago. I could actually go back to when I was 13 and I did a variation of the diet.
