american culture trains us to eat as much & as fast as we can. remember the 25 minute "lunch" in high school? had to make it through the line at the caf then wolf yr food down before the bell rings. pretty messy. we train our kids young. eating is treated as a commodity, not a luxurious pleasure.
my mama used to get whacked by the nuns if she didn't finish her whole plate in the short break.
o yeah. i'm an over-the-sink eater (no dishes!). keep it up! i've been getting up earlier and taking the time during my lunch breaks to actually dine.
