I know this challenge has 6 days before it begins, but I'd like to know for future reference. Smile

It is going to rain for the next few days (where I live) and I do not own an elliptical... what could I use as substitution exercise if I cannot get outside to run/walk for 45 minutes?

Thank you! Very Happy

Smile wear a sports raincoat, with a hood and go for your walk / run...you are not going to melt in the rain...no risk...

You can go crossfit style! That'll kick your butt!

Stay the course, stay on point, stay motivated, dedicated, and you won't be stopped. Discipline. Perseverance. Focus. Dig deep and you will be victorious.

Thanks for the ideas!

But maybe I should have specified... If I hear thunder or see lightning, I will not go running and if it is hailing I'm not going to drive to the mall...

So I guess I'm looking for an exercise I could do at home. Smile

And what is "crossfit style"?

Thanks again guys and gals!

Is your house a single floor or does it have multiple levels? If it has multiple levels you can use your stairs for and work on running sprints on them. I know marathons are generally long distance, but if you can't get out it still substitutes well as long as you keep moving fast. P.S. Some of my very best runs have been out in the rain. If you see lightening I'd agree to not go running then, but if you hear thunder go running and just keep within a mile or so of your house so if lightening gets close you can go home but can still enjoy some good runs.

My house is single level... Maybe I can just sprint/jog in place. Smile

Hopefully the weather will clear up, we've just been having ridiculously bad storms for the past week and they all seem to start when I get off work and last until the next morning, which is my only time to get a run in. I swear I'm not already making excuses not to run! Embarassed

I've found running in place seems to put a little more wear and tear on the knees, if it were me I would probably find some other type of cross training for those days. Running during your lunch break may be something worth considering also???

I sweat very easily, especially when I work out. Like, "was-it-just-down-pouring-you-could-have-borrowed-my-umbrella" sweaty. If I didn't have to deal with people all day I might be willing to run during lunch. Thanks for the idea!

The weather has never been this violent for this extended amount of time. I'm used to seeing 20 minutes of horrible storms, then clear for the rest of the day. I'm sure I'll figure something out... The weather can't stay this way forever! Smile
