For people like me food is medicine. It's like a chemistry project! When I follow the guidelines, I do just fine!
Be gentle with yourself. This program calls for major changes in the way you eat. It's worth it, but only if you can keep it up long term. So small steps might be the better way. Of course, this is coming from someone with over 90 pounds yet to lose!
I just started reading another book by Mark Hyman, called the UltraMind Solution. It is in harmony with what Mark Hyman taught in Ultrametabolism; but it is more technical and covers a lot of new ground. I learned several things from Ultrametabolism, but UltraMind Solution has even more information that explains the delicate balance between mind, body, nutrition, aging, hormones, and chemicals.
need to know how to switch my diet plan to south beach, I am sure it is simple and I am just missing it.
First thing when you wake up drink a glass of cold water, it will get your metabolism going and prevents me from over-eating in the morning.
When in doubt...don't eat ...
