lovergirl654's Journal, 18 April 2010

To my excitement, I stepped on the scale this morning and I weighed 356.6. Of course I weighed myself like 3 times just to make sure it was not a fluke. I even had my 2 year old to get on the scale of which he weighs 31.2 pounds lol. But yet I have gone down tremendously and met my goal that I had set for next Friday. So, I will change my goal to be 354 by Friday. Just an expectation of losing an additional 2 pounds in the week hopefully as I continue to eat well. I am doing this and it always feels so darn good when you get those positive results. I also found out that my in laws are having their monthly dinner next Sunday I believe which means that "houston we may have a problem". That dinner will be filled with greens, macaroni and cheese, fried chicken, sodas, juice, corn bread, biscuits, turkey wings, burgers, and did I say macaroni and cheese (my favorite meal in this whole entire world). Oh boy, I am SOOO not looking forward to that day because eating the macaroni and cheese will cause me to go above the carbs I am not supposed to go above on Medifast and I would therefore screw myself and have to start the whole diet over (for those who don't know that means groggyness, headaches, tiredness, and the feeling of failure for 2 to 5 days). So, I am faced with a huge challened. My husband, who is on this diet as well, I am sure would say we deserve this day of eating....sigh I must agree with him there. Whats a (big) girl to do?

being big like you ive learned that you cant predict how much you will lose in a week, regardless of what you try..as for stressin over the meal...its just a meal..pick the healthy stuff an make the portions small, and one meal shouldnt hurt you all that much..if you make a habit of it, then yes it might work against you...but as long as you get a walk in while your there or move around then im sure you have nothing to stress about..

Congrats on the weigh-in! Don't worry about dinner. I say, enjoy your in-law's mac and cheese! But a very small amount of it (measure 1/2 if you must). Savor each bite and know that it won't last long..lol. But make that your only carb-laden food. After that, go for lean cuts of meats (no skin) and veggies. Ask them to steam your veggies instead boiling it in ham hock water. I'm sure they want their son and you to be healthy and it's not an unreasonable request. Go in there with a plan and stick to it. You'll come out of there so happy that were in control the whole time. :) Good luck buddy!
