I think today will be a good day, a really good day infact!
The scales have done thier job and I am back to my pre Christmas low...at last! Very good news indeed :o)
Ozzy is looking much brighter and has done his business at 1am which was a bigger relief for us than it probably was for him...lol! We are off to the vets for his post op check in an hour and expect all to go well.
I am really loving this fitbit thing. It has made me want to move more. We have 2 bathrooms downstairs (I think you guys call them bathrooms, even though they have no bath in them) and 1 upstairs (with a bath in it...lol) and I now choose to use the upstairs bathroom. A small change that I had never really thought about...but I got a badge for it.... ha ha ha... and am pleased as punch!
It's all about the small changes. I am able to know more acurately how many cals I have left for the day to hit my weightloss target. (I use FS to log all my food and only enter total cals onto the fitbit site) If I want to eat more, then I have to get off my butt and earn them. Yesterday I didn't have enough cals for the dinner I wanted to eat, so went to the gym and earnt them...then stuffed my face...difficult to do whilst grinning...but hey I managed!
XXXX make one small positive change today...you'll feel great XXXX

up from my garage and it counts that every time I go out or in the
house..I may try to go to the basement today and see if I can climb higher...I have to agree the fitbit makes you think of getting in those
steps for sure..I love the little thing..Hope the visit to the vet goes

Well done, Di. Wow you guys are making me think about a fit it. I did look at it once online but it seemed to do too much maybe, that I might be consumed with it. What do you think? Di, what do you call the bathrooms, especially the ones without the bath? Hugs to Ozzy boy.

Hi Heather, re the bathroom names.... polite people may call them a lavatory, normal folks will call them a toilet or loo for short, horrid little boys (and naughty old women...lol) will call them a bog!! So take your pick! Do you have any other little names for them? The fitbit is so cool! I am a convert for sure. It is a fab little tool. You don't have to check on it all the time...just as well as mine is nestled in my bra..lol..or you can just look at the online info on your PC. I LOVE FS so will not use most of the stuff fitbit offer, like food logging and journals/forums. I put a 'calories only' favourite in my fitbit food log (I put in 100 cals=1 serving and put in 2.38 for 238 cals ect), just transfer what it says on FS to each meal. The thing that it has done for me, is to really want to add in more cals, so I can hit my cal deficit, whilst enjoying some exras...IF I HAVE EARNED THEM....and I earn them for sure. For me it was £80 ($120) well spent and you guys get them for $100 dollars! You are such a gym baby, you will love it. I think it will be invaluble for maitenance...eat what you like....so long as you have paid for it! XX BTW LOVE your picture...you look so much younger than I imagined...just GORGEOUS!!!!!

Hey Di - I too just got a FitBit and am thrilled w/ it! I like being able to see my sleep patterns so far. Being that I am entering menopause, I have been very curious about my sleep, and if it's an issue for me. Also, for Heather, or anyone else reading this, it is a fun glorified pedometer. Steps, stairs, workouts, activity of any kind, all day...it records it. You plug the base into your computer (or laptop) and when you get near the computer, it wirelessly transmits the info to the website. You can pull up the website and see how you are doing thruout the day. And it measures how many calories you have burned thru your activities...so you can tell (based on your inputted goals, weight, height, age, etc.) how many calories you have left to eat each day, or each meal. Lots of good info, and good feedback in real time - which makes it easier to see on the days you are not overly active...how much it affects the overall food consumption you should be eating. Granted, $100 for a glorified pedometer is alot, but it's a long term investment for me to see how my whole year looks. I am not changing anything I am doing - but just getting a much clearer picture of WHAT I am doing, and what it really looks like w/ my activity level. (hope that makes sense.)

Awesome that the scale took a downward jump! I am so glad Ozzy is feeling better and I'm sure he will come through his chech up with flying colors. I'm excited that the Fitbit is cheering you on!! Great incentive! I just wish it were waterproof but know it would give me motivation so it is a dilemma for me personally. Oh, bathrooms without baths could be called powder rooms but I hardly ever use the term ;-). Continue with your great progress! Hugs to you and Ozzy!

I know how important that first poop is, my dog didn't go for almost a week after his surgery. After a few days the vet suggested I put him on pumpkin to get things moving. When he finally did it was several large steaming piles. Poor guy was holding all of that crap for so long. I'm really interested in that Fitbit. I looked it up on the internet and it tracks your sleep patterns. I'm sure I had sleep apnea and I think it is getting better but it would be nice to know for sure. I think I will get one. Do you think the calories burned it reocrds is accurate?

A bog, Di? LOL. I don't know why that's naughty at all, but it sounds funny. I don't know of any names we have other than the "John." A loo, I've heard and so glad that Ozzy has had his poop (while we're on topic). Hugs to your boy and thanks on the kind comments about the pic.

Yeah for pre-Christmas weight! You bounced right back. Way to go. You seems to have this down now. Way to burn extra calories yesterday to have the dinner you wanted. That's is awesome.

So glad Ozzy is on the mend so hard when our pets are not feeling to well. Oh I have to get one of those fitbits...especially I am thinking of doing the Susan G Komen walk in August with my DD she just let me know this morning, but I like the thought that it will make me go upstairs to the loo instead of the closest one....LOL...I am probably less than 1000 steps at this time, although today I am up and downstairs to the basement doing the laundry. A bog is really not a nice word to use LOL.....I think cos of knowing what it means to me it just sounds worse. I did just check out the web site for Fitbits the reviews all look good as do the reviews on here.
