Ruhu's Journal, 29 August 2013

I'm a lucky gal -- even with my eating issues, I'm only up 1/2 lb :), and the new plan is going well! As much as I didn't want to go back to logging my food (it is time consuming), it is really helping keeping me back on track & aware of what goes in this mouth.

I'm also lucky because I had the best day yesterday. My IRL friend who asked me to go to a charity tennis event with her was her typical self & gave me very few details ahead of time. I had no idea we were playing on the grass courts where the US Open used to be played & that Mats Wilander (winner of 7 grand slam titles from 1982-88) would be there. He played with us for a short time & my partner and I beat him and my friend in a tiebreaker! And, later in the day, there was a competition called king/queen of the court (for the men/women). I won & received an oversized tennis ball autographed by Mats & the 3 other pros there! Winning isn't everything, but it sure beats losing!

But back to reality today... possibly biking this morning & late afternoon with bookkeeping work in between. DH & I are definitely biking with friends this afternoon followed by dinner with them -- sushi, one of my favs, & the sashimi I love plus seaweed salad and edamame are all South Beach Gluten Solution friendly. I'm waiting to see if my IRL friend can bike this morning & if not, I may go to a class at the gym instead.

But regardless, I'm ready to stay my course & start my day in prayer --

God grant me the serenity
to accept the things I cannot change;
courage to change the things I can;
and wisdom to know the difference.

Living one day at a time;
Enjoying one moment at a time;
Accepting hardships as the pathway to peace;
Taking, as He did, this sinful world
as it is, not as I would have it;
Trusting that He will make all things right
if I surrender to His Will;
That I may be reasonably happy in this life
and supremely happy with Him
Forever in the next.
Amen.

Today I will pray, breathe, journal, log & express my way on this one day and each one meal, moment, bite and emotion along the way. I'm grateful for each of wonderful you, my family & IRL friends, the wonderful time I had yesterday and that I have the health & wealth to enjoy this life I love! xoxox

Morning Ruth. Glad you had such a wonderful day yesterday. Imagine beating a pro! And getting a trophy of the end of it all. I didn't know we had a star in our midst :) Glad also that you are feeling better, that your plan is working for you and only up 1/2 lb - you'll have that off in no time. Enjoy your day sweetie.

Ruth sounds like an awesome day...and it was just right for an awesome person (you)!! Sounds like you are on top of everything and as always you are such an inspiration. I am thinking I will break out the bike today too! Still too warm here in the afternoon (for my Husband) but hopefully the afternoons will be cooler and he will join me again :)

Angel - you've got me craving Sashimi ... I may have to phone my IRL friend .. or just get some to go as I'll be near there when I do a 'big market can't get it at the corner market' run this eve. I wouldn't say 'lucky' - I'd say you were being rewarded for taking charge of your eating. Luck has nothing to do with it :-)
