I had my 16 week appointment today and all went well. Heard the heart beat (145 bpm). I wasn't crazy about this doctor, but I'm willing to give her one more shot and we see her the next appointment too. If I don't like her after that appointment I'm going to make a note that when I deliver if possible I'd like a different doctor to deliver!
I don't really think I've gained 6 lbs in 2 weeks, but I might have. However, I drank quite a bit of water this morning since I have to give a urine sample each visit.
Not a whole lot is going on, work has been busy. I have gotten some knitting done though - finished a baby sweater for a friend, made a yoda hat for my sister to give to a friend that just had a baby, and started MY baby's baby blanket! I'll try and post some pictures tonight.

That's so exciting! I remember those appointments were so fun to hear the heartbeat and know everything was okay. As long as you are eating healthy and still moving, don't worry too much about the weight. Like you said you drank water, so some of that weight could be from that anyway. Right now it may fluctuate a little anyway. Good luck!! I hope all goes well. :)

I remember crocheting a baby blanket for my daughter while I was pregnant with her. I still have it somewhere and she is now 21! It's so exciting to hear the heart beat. I don't know how accurate this is, but one of the nurses who was attending to me while I was being induced to deliver my daughter said that a heart beat between 120 and 140 is usually a boy and one between 140 and 160 is usually a girl (I'm pretty sure I remembered that right). I had somehow always envisioned that I was having a boy so when the heart rate indicated, according to this new info, that I was having a girl... I was skeptical. But it turned out to be right. Anyway, I was just wondering if you knew what you were having or if you had any "intuition" as to whether it was a boy or a girl. If the heart beat thing holds true, it might be a girl!

I just read your comment on my journal- I'm actually going home labor day weekend for my midwife appt... Any other weekend I am free though! I did not know our due date is the same day! Crazy...

So fun!! Glad you got to hear the baby's heartbeat, how neat! I want to learn how to knit too, Lindsay.. My mom has tried to teach me and I can never remember!!
