biblioholic03's Journal, 03 October 2008

I'm sorry to have been away so long. Things have been busy around here and stressful. I'm back now though. My grandpa was in the hospital last week and it wasn't looking good, but they were able to get his pain somewhat under control and he is back at home after having an awful experience with a short term rehab facility.

I also had so put together a presentation for my uncle's high school classes (world history) and I spoke about human migration theories and the archaeology site I've been on since I was 15 to 5 classes.

Food wise I've been eating a lot because my job is so strenuous, and although I hadn't really gained it wasn't the healthiest foods. So my friend Kim, Greg and I are keeping each other on track with making sure we're keeping track of points, exercising regularly, and eating more fruits and veggies (basically WW on our own). We started Wednesday, Oct. 1 and it's going well. I don't always make my daily goals, but I'm trying a lot harder! According to the scales I've already lost 1.2 lbs. Hopefully that will stay gone b/c my goal for October is to lose 4 lbs.

One fun thing going on is my cousin and I are going up next weekend to visit my sister in NYC! My cousin hasn't been there before, so she's pretty excited and I think we'll have a great time.

Guess I should go catch up on everyone's journals!

I'm sorry that your grandpa has had such a rough time. I'm glad things have improved some. I'll bet you were a great guest speaker for those H.S. classes! Thanks for taking the time to do that. Way to rally the troops for more accountability with the healthy eating! That should do the trick!

How great that you get to go to NYC! Now that I've moved to the eastern part of Canada, I hope to be able to visit there sometime soon. It's only a 6 hour drive from here. Good to see you are keeping track of your points, even if you are "eating a lot". Sometimes eating more is good when you are very active and it sounds like you are. Keep up the good effort and I hope to see more downward slopes on your chart!

Hi Biblio, good to see you. Sorry to hear about your grandpa but am glad that he's finally out of the facility and back home. I'm pretty sure you will have a great time in New York. For a person who has not been there I like to walk them in from New Jersey (I believe it's the High Street Station which positions you correctly) across the Brooklyn Bridge in the morning. That puts the sun at your back (the light reflects beautifully off of the city) and there are always memorable pictures there. Good job at holding back your weight, keep up the good work! :-)
