2 Days & counting -- my OCD (of course I have it, Bella, lol!) realized the better countdown is to my boys coming home for the holiday! Sat, 5-6 pmish (but I won't get into counting hours/minutes, I promise), 1 into JFK & 1 into LGA -- then the true meaning of Christmas begins! I'm so excited to have them home that all the rest of the holiday prep will take a back seat. Of course, until they arrive, I'll be busy getting in their fav foods, their rooms ready to be re-occupied (& accordingly messed up!) & making sure Santa's has checked their lists twice!

So, feeling good this morning & so excited for us all to be together! Yesterday's reflection & letting go of the need to get everything Martha Stewart perfect really helped. Can't wait for my intentionally imperfect holiday season to truly start on Sat, knowing nothing could be more perfect than my family being together. And will continue to pray, post, log & breathe my way through the holidays one day, bite, minute, ornament, gift, decoration & card at a time! Ho Ho Ho!

Good Morning Ruth- glad you are feeling good and excited about your boys getting home. It really is all about being with the ones you love isn't it. Whether the tree or decorations are perfect, or you prepared everything from scratch, in my opinion, it really doesn't matter. Those are the unrealistic expectations we put on ourselves. The best part of Christmas will be finding a little time to relax and spending time with your loved ones. Take care.

Hooray to letting go of perfection....so over-rated anyway, as it stops you from enjoying yourself!!! 2 days will go by in a flash and then like you say Christmas is ready to start :)

Gee Angel Ruth, if you let go of being perfect that leaves only ME ... Hahahah! So kidding THERE. I am so very proud of and happy FOR you. Been there, done THAT, never fools ANYone. I remember one year my Mother came to stay with me and I wore myself out decorating every single inch of space, making homemade everything, music on the surround sound in every room, blah blah blahditty blah and her reaction was 'I can't relax - I'm afraid I'll move something and you'll spin out of control.' I bet your husband, sons, guests and most importantly YOU are going to have the best Christmas ever.
