Back up in weight. But, Greg is back too, and I know this weight gain is because we've eaten out several times. And I haven't been exercising. What is wrong with my "train" being so easily derailed?! Well, back on track today! We have good food in the house and have been cooking. Today I'm supposed to go out to lunch for a co-worker's birthday, but I might just go with them and eat what I brought so that I don't spend the money and eat the calories! Is that rude??

117.8 lb Lost so far: 9.2 lb.    Still to go: 7.8 lb.    Diet followed reasonably well.

That's a very small gain and could come off easily because restaurant food is so high in sodium, etc., it causes much bloating. The good news is that you aren't letting the gain get the best of you. You are stopping it in its tracks. And, no, it's not rude to go to a birthday lunch and not eat - you are there for the friendship, not the food! But I'm sure the restaurant would prefer you ate your food elsewhere beforehand! LOL.

I love your dedication! But, may I make a friendly suggestion? It seems, in the long run, you might want to practice the art of restaurant eating - what I mean is learning what to pick at variou places so you are not as easily derailed when Greg is home or you are invited to social gatherings. If we go out, I pick a ggood source lean protein and get it broiled (fish, chicken, etc) and a huge salad or other green vegetable. I know you probably already know this - but just though I mention it do you do not feel derailed each time. Eating out is a fact of life and I know if I want a lifestyle change (not a diet) then I have to learn to eat well no matter where I find myself eating.

HCB has some good advice - other than allowing for the expense. Certainly your friends will understand. My friend followed the Jenny Craig plan & we all thought her strategy - in bringing along her Jenny meals - was great & we commended her for that effort. I like the saving money aspect of your strategy. I wish my husband would follow that tip. He eats out with his buds from work - then wants to stay in on the weekends. That's okay. I am a home body.

Thanks for all the encouragement! Yes, I do try and pick the healthier options when eating out. Sometimes I just crave that something that isn't healthy! I got a bit of exercise in last night and have Zumba tonight, so hopefully this weight will come back off quickly! Wiener - it's almost the opposite here with eating out. At least lately since we've only seen each other on the weekends and it's been easier it seems to just go out. Oh well, weight loss here I come!

We have eaten out so much this summer. Sort of looking forward to my crock pot dinners during the school year!

Yeah, going out to eat and going to the bars has been really spendy this summer for us too!! Crazy how quickly it can add up... Hope you had fun at zumba!
