Day 4: /afternoon.

My mom, my cousin and I went to a coffee shop. They ate apple pies... And insisted that I should eat a pie because they were "oh, so delicious"... "just a little, tryyy".

Annoying... they know I'm on a diet. :p

Then at dinner my mom made some delicious vegetables and I was so hungry... I'm really glad I said no to that pie! I was able to eat MORE at dinner: better, delicious & healthy food!!!

Good for you!! I hate when people do that... they don't realise how much harder they are making it!! It's already hard enough to stick to your goals. They don't realise they are making it so tough for you, they probably think they are helping. Like how tough would it be to diet if your roommates were always ordering pizza and eating it in front of you?!! Not cool.

I have the same problem when I go out with family all the time. Some struggle with weight as much as I do, but aren't trying to do anything about it. Sometimes I feel like they're actually trying to make me fail so they can feel better about their own weight! I picture the day when I'll be at a healthy weight/weight ratio and can literally run circles around the most egregious offenders. Yea, I have a pretty dysfunctional family dynamic --

I agree with you Wolfsage, that is definitely NOT cool to do. It is very selfish, & I personally would let them know that, as gently as possible. On the more positive side, something my hubby & I do (that might help you resolve similar future situations) is to order 1 serving of pie or dessert, & have them cut it in half & put it on 2 plates. I've learned that restaurants are often requested to do this, & we've never had any problems with them doing it for us. It's so nice to be able to have that little treat & not have to feel guilty or see awful results on the scale later on. I hope this helps you, & I wish you continued success in making good food choices as a lifestyle. HUGS, GLAMMER

You're right, it is selfish and can quickly throw you into, "I can't do this" mode! You have to muster up every ounce of courage to stay strong. So glad you did, Idiay!

Hooray for you! You were able to stick with your plan and resist the sabotage of those who really don't understand how much harder they made your experience. your insistence on refusing unhealthy foods may have your loving family finding better choices to help you after a while. Maybe they will even join you...farther down the road. What ever choices they make, good for you for staying true to your goals. J

wow! really impressive. and don't overlook the best part of that episode. you now have the experience to know how satsifying it is to resist and you can look back on that the next time temptation is shoved at you and saying no will be sooooo easy (I wish)
