Day 3 following a low-GI type plan and my weight is down 2 1/2 pounds. I'm feeling really good, lots of energy and I've been sleeping really well. I was having an issue with insomnia which was definitely adding an additional challenge to losing weight as lack of sleep adds stress to your life and you feel like crap. I don't know if the diet change affected the insomnia or if it just passed naturally but I'm feeling much better. :)
I haven't received my book yet (The Low GI Diet by Rick Gallop) so I'm really just winging this low GI thing. I'm looking forward to getting it and settling in for a nice long read. I have a pretty good idea what I need to do, the low GI plan is really not complicated and I've been surfing the net looking for recipe ideas and meal plans. A lot of the Atkins recipes can be adapted to this, as well as most of the recipes for South Beach. Lots of variety out there!
Still not experiencing any cravings or hunger which is making this pretty easy to stick with. It'll be interesting to see what happens the longer I follow this WOE.
Happy 4th of July to all my American friends!! Hope you all enjoy a happy, safe celebration!

2-1/2 pound in 3 days is great. May I borrow your scale?

Thanks for stopping by lgrant59 and happy anniversary once again! The low GI diet has been around for about 10 years now, it's a moderate plan that doesn't restrict any one thing but teaches you how to make better choices when it comes to carbs. I'm enjoying it so far!

Hi BeckiP! There's lots of info on the web about the plan and I've ordered the Low GI Diet by Rick Gallop, I'm just waiting for it to be delivered and then I'll post my thoughts on how helpful it is. :^)
