I have discovered something AWESOME: pineapple-mint flavored water. Seriously, it is an amazing flavor combination.
Not something you buy in the store. I just added about a half-cup's worth of pineapple chunks to tap water, plus two sprigs of mint, shook it up with ice, and presto: awesome awesomeness.
In my house, we've transitioned from soda to diet soda and now to no-sweetener drinks like iced green, white and rooibos teas. I've always liked lemon and cucumber in my water, but now I'm branching out and this is my new favorite thing.
The aroma alone is so wonderful. I hope you try it!

I am going to try your pineapple and mint drink today, as I am going to concentrate on drinking more water (sodium high meal yesterday). I love lemon flavoured green tea :-)

Oooh just tried it.... I whizzed mine and then strained it... I also added a couple splashes of diet tonic (I know you are trying to move away from 'soda type things') . Really refreshing... I have used my pineapple up now - but have a cantaloupe melon in the fridge and some fresh ginger - I may try that mix later. I am using one of Kingkelds tricks and setting my alarm hourly, so I get a drink of water. ...... Oooh just thought, ginger is good for weight loss and the immune system too - a plus all round, if it tastes ok :-)

Good ideas! I am avoiding diet soda, but I love talking rain, which is sodium-free sparkling water.

I had some freshly cut pineapple in my refrigerator, and it's a delightful change from my lemon or lime water. I'll have to pick up some mint and give that a try as well. Thank you for sharing and opening up a world of possibilities to try.

These ideas sound great! I quit diet soda a few years back, and was drinking the occasional regular soda, but now it is water, tea, and the occasional coffee or seltzer. I will definitely try one of these for a treat.
