This is what I do not understand. I am brutally honest about what I eat. for example, last week I have Five Guys double cheese burger and fries. And I recorded it. I record everything! And I exercise more than I log in because I dont really believe in eating my workout calories. Those are supposed to be extra weight loss calories and I dont count them towards my Net usually. Also I do the INSANITY workouts and theres really no way to log that on here since its some running, jumping, pushup, etc. But I have gained 5 pounds in the past 2 weeks. Granted I have had some bad days, over all I am almost ALWAYS at a deficit. I truly don't understand it.

I could have written this myself. I am not diligent about logging but can tell you I am on target with calorie and workout 1-1.5 hours a day and and steady or gain a lb here and there. it will be a month this week and I am so far down like 4lbs. I have to believe I am gaining muscle....there is no other explanation. My clothes do seem to show it...some....I have never worked so hard and am fustrated to say the least. keep up the good work. I totally know how you feel.

I feel the same! 1 pound is 3,600 calories so unless I have eaten an excess of 18,000 between the last 2 weeks I dont see how its possible! I know diet and exercise works because I've done it before and shed the pounds. Hopefully if we just hang in there.... At least your down 4 pounds! Thats 1 pound a week!

it's muscle weight, keep up your workout, you will even it up. Muscle burns fat! just remember that, and don't give up! Nothing good comes fast or easy! I can't believe you are doing Insanity, that is awesome!

If you have been doing this for a while, I would agree with watersjlw, it could be a gain in muscle. Muscle is almost 4 times denser than fat. look at this photo: (Caution: Shows animal muscle, vs. animal fat) http://i.imgur.com/s1pMy.jpg This means that although the scales are not being nice right now, the tape measure probably is. Take a couple of measurements, (waist, upper arm, thighs etc) and use these to keep motivation up when the scales get you down.

When I first started the site I had the same problem. I would workout and stay within my RDI, but I wasn't losing a thing. So, I started shaving off my carbs a little bit. Rather than eating over 200g of carbs I tried to stick around 150g. I found in cutting the carbs just a little I was eating better foods and that gave me that boost I needed to start losing.
