Today was a good day. Not necessarily the best food choices, but well below my RDI. It's a start. Less than an hour before bed, and I'm thinking I'll call this day a success. I teetered a little bit about a half-hour ago, and made a bologna and onion sandwich. DW had a chemo treatment today, so she and DD ate breakfast, lunch and dinner together. So, I was cooking. I fixed some of my favorites: a slice of cold pizza and leftover fried chicken. Yum! Really!
It was a beautiful day today, high was in the 80's, and the low tonight is supposed to be 53F. Better enjoy it, because the rest of the week is supposed to be in the 90's! I'll probably run again in the morning; I set up a half-marathon training plan (again) and I can't wait to get started.
DW came home excited that all the nurses and her Oncologist signed the blanket they gave her when she started her chemo treatments. The blanket is a kind of solid lime green on the one side, and looks like a patchwork quilt on the other. They all signed it on the green side with a hot pink marker. The Oncologist signed, "You did it!" even though she has about 6 more weeks of treatments. But, I'm sure she has been through the worst of it. She asked if it was really necessary that she go through the radiation treatments when this is over, and the Oncologist told her that it was absolutely necessary. That's 5 days a week for 5 straight weeks. The treatments are only like 5 minutes long, but it's a 45 minute drive over there every day. We'll get through it, but I'll sure be glad when she's done with them.
Well, my Friends, it's about that time, so Nitey Nite! Pleasant dreams!

DK so glad to hear DW is coming through the other side of her treatments. It sounds like her oncologist is really pleased with her progress...so go DW. Half marathon you are awesome....way to go....especially with the getting up so early to do it, I am not a morning person.

What a kind gesture on the part of your wife's nurses. These folks know what they are doing must know that your wife is on the coasting side of the hill now. 'Seems as if she is well taken care of. That thought must be reassuring to you. God bless you & yours!
