San Francisco, I love you!

Today was ahhh-mazing. Just glorious, thanks to a perfectly clear, sunny, temperate day. I truly could not have asked for better weather, thought my phone's weather app lied and told me it would be overcast and high 50s, so I (sadly) packed inappropriately warm jeans & sweaters.

Yesterday I arrived in the afternoon, had bad Chinese food (such a shame!! but I was starving), but had a fantastic dinner of mussles, salad, skillet-grilled cornbread and funnel cake (!!!!) for dessert, like from the fair. I also had one too many beverages (which, for me who qualifies only as a "lightweight" when referring to my alcohol tolerance, is exactly 3) so came home from the dinner and promptly fell asleep by 8:45.

What a lame-o! But then, it's Pride weekend here in San Francisco so I can only imagine the nightlife would have been even more rambunctious than normal. And while I loved the antics of Pride attendees during the day, by the evening I was ready for the comforts of the $2 million condo that my friend is house-sitting... OH MY WORD IT IS AMAZING.

I am sitting here overlooking the Bay and the Golden Gate Bridge, windows all open, panoramic view, awesome awesomeness.

I feel very, very lucky for this little peek into such a beautiful home. And, um, this one is MODEST compared to what we drove by today.

Need to run, but wanted to share this MAJOR SUCCESS: I walked 7.5 miles across the Golden Gate Bridge today (there and back, from Pacific Heights). I feel so accomplished! I might even do it again tomorrow morning! (-: I never could have done this two months ago... this is proof that I'm not just losing weight, I am getting so much fitter.

Wow - sounds incredible!!! What a treat to be staying in such an amazing condo!! I'm trying to picture your insane view - I love San Fran!! I have an uncle that lives near there (in one of those huge multi-million dollar homes) and I need to go back and visit soon, but they are always traveling all over everywhere.. I think I could just live my life house-sitting whichever house they are not currently living in and be just fine with it!! ;) Awesome job on your 7.5 mile walk!!! Definitely some inspiring progress!! :)

Awesome! I biked across the golden gate then down all the way to ATT Park and back up (against that pesky wind). What a great SF day! It doesnt get much better than today!

I love San Francisco, but oh my, SF is an eating town. I had been on Atkins about 10 years ago and I went on vacation to SF and I never got back on Atkins again. SF ruined me for that diet, but what a wonderful way to go. I cannot recommend in good conscience that you restrain yourself in that town, but luckily, there are many ways to get in some exercise in SF to offset the restaurant offerings. Enjoy your time there!
