Happy Saturday buddies!! Can you believe that this weekend I'm at a seminar on the Book of Isaiah?! Lol. I love that kind of stuff. The speaker, Fr. Jim Nesbit, is a noted theologian from Spreckles, California, and I've been attending his seminars for years. He is a delight and incredibly prosaic. My personal Dalai Lama (my apologies if I've misspelled his name). I have a one hour drive ahead of me but its a bright sunny day. No big deal. I'm heading south to a very flat area near the airport, and I'll eventually have planes swooping overhead in the sky. I love watching planes landing and taking off. There's an IKEA nearby. On my way home, if it's still open, maybe I'll pop in. ;)
There will be baked treats at this seminar but I've decided not walk to those laden tables. I know I'll be happier if I resist. In the back kitchen I'm going to stash mini diet pepsi's and sugarfree Jell-O cups, and I'm bringing an apple or two. If I want the benefits of permanent weight loss, I have to break old habits. Break the cycle. Then my confidence will get stronger and dieting will become so much easier. Every time I turn down food matters. I want to lose this extra weight, fit into smaller-sized clothing, be healthier, and feel better about myself. Dieting is so worth it!! Have a great day all.

Have a great weekend Maria! Drive safe and enjoy this seminar. Great idea to bring your own healthy snacks. After all, you're going there to "feed" your spirit, baked foods don't have their place in this. You'll be stronger and more confident when you'll drive back home, I'm sure of that.

I hope you enjoy the speaker and are spititually enlightened. Have a safe trip and come back to tell us about it. Great idea staying away from those tables. Have a great drive.

Dalai Lama is correct, you wouldn't want to misspell that one. :-) I hope that you have enjoyed the seminar and are having a lot of fun on this weekend. Yes, break that cycle of destruction! ;-) I've been very busy lately and have had a little too much attend to which explains my lack of response to some of your lovely comments and journal posts. The very best to you Maria!

You have inspired me to go back and re-read "The Raven," something which I hope to get to shortly. I don't think I ever understood as well as you seem to. Your posts are among the most intellectually stimulating and I appreciate them very much.

Watch out for IKEA! they wind you around past really beautiful stuff - I get worn down and buy things I don't need. Hope you enjoy your trip!

Sounds interesting. Enjoy the seminar. And you're right about breaking the cycle. I'm good in my regular routine but I often use any "special" thing to go back to my old ways. I think planning ahead and knowing yo9u will feel so much better if you stick with your plan will be a great help.
