This year is a year of stability for me, the first in a very long time.
This is also the year that I actually did a few different things, just for me:
*I Set fitness goals instead of weight goals (though weight still weighs heavy on my mind)
* I joined a gym...and get this... I WENT!
*I finally I accepted that I am not going to get anywhere by making plans and not executing them. There are a million reasons why I can't do something, but I really just need one to get going.

* I set some tough goals - a 10 mile race in September and the Tough Mudder in December.

So where am I now? While I am increasing my times on walking and starting to jog, I am finding it is really quite difficult with my "fanny pack" (you know.. the layer of fat that seems to bounce up and down on your buns when you pick up the pace.) Now I must find a diet that works, I signed up for weight watchers, but I don't have time for meetings and the online jive didn't do it for me. I can't afford Jenny Craig so that left me with Atkins. I used the Atkins Program 2 years ago in the midst of some serious turmoil, I felt great while I was doing it, but I couldn't maintain. Every time something would come up I would fall off the wagon. My friends were always inviting me to lunch and would give me strange looks if I deviated from my normal meal choices. Yes, I am a grown woman who succumbs to peer pressure when dining out. However, I am done. After tracking my financial expendatures and noting that I was spending almost 600$ to eat out every day of the week, I figured it was time to reprioritize.

This time the onus is on me. I have the ability to make the changes I need to, purge my cupboards and resist some of the treats my 3 year old gets to nibble on. I am a much stronger person than I once was.

Now. Let's get to it!
