TIRED SATURDAY...
Mr. Bigglesworth, my oldest kitty, started acting strangely yesterday. When I got up and made the coffee he didn't come for his treats, and I found him hiding under the end table in the living room. He moved from there to my bed, and then behind the headboard, where he stayed all day and through the night. I kept waking and checking on him. At 5:30 I got up to check and he was gone. He had moved to the living room. I stayed up with him until I could call a vet. I took him in at 8:30 to get checked as he was getting worse by the minute. I was so afraid I was going to lose another fur baby. They did a examination, some blood work, and thought he might be a type 2 diabetic, however he has a severe infection. They aren't sure where, but think it is the kidneys. They put him on a very strong antibiotic, gave him some subcutaneous fluids to help with the dehydration, and we will just have to watch him. If he isn't lots better by Monday, then we will have to go back and have to get him some IV fluids. This has just plumb tuckered me out. I came home from the vet and took a nap, but I am still really tired.
The chore list for the day is to vacuum the pool and try to get some mowing done. We shall see what gets done, and if it doesn't I am not going to fret about it.
Got my running done yesterday, did some more concrete repair done, and took my walk. Food was good!

You know there is something wrong when they won't eat their treats - poor Mr. Bigglesworth! Hope he is feeling better ASAP.

Sorry about your cat, I hope he is better soon, poor guy. It's good that you noticed him, some people just think it's too hot when their animals act different.

My prayers are with you and your kitty. I know what you're going through, and it is very tough. They are so helpless and can't tell you what they're feeling. Sounds like your vet knows what he's doing. Praying he'll stay hydrated and start improving to where he eats properly.

Awww Stef..I know its soo hard to see your little babies no matter how old they are to be sick..Hope he gets better soon and you both can get a good nights sleep...Love and Hugs sweetie...:O)

Thanks, Pam. He appears to be a bit better. At least he came out during the night and drank some water (his night time bowls of water are right next to the bed on my side). Bless his little heart...he is just sooo sick! As for the work...yup there is always tomorrow and the next day and the next day and the next.....lol

I know, Buffy...and he LOVES his treats. He is a bit better, thanks, but still not his normal, loving, kitty self. He is avoiding us for the most part, but at least he isn't hiding as much. Hope you are having a great weekend. Enjoy that Mahi!

Katred, thanks. Poor little guy, he is really sick. I am hoping that he is loads better by tomorrow morning, now that he has 2 doses of the antibiotic in him.

Thanks, Sazy. I am going to wait until Tuesday to mow. The watering won't wait, although they are calling for loads of rain tomorrow. Mister is a bit better, but still really sick. HUGS!

HCB, thanks. I have 3 cats and 3 dogs...they are my furbabies, so when one gets sick, it really worries me. I lost my 2 oldest cats and my old chocolate lab in the last 9 months, so I am just not up to losing another one! Have a great Sunday!

oh Stef, how awful! Hoping and praying he gets better quick. Doesn't bear thinking about. And you hate to see them when they are unwell cause they can't tell you wants wrong! At least kids you can snuggle and cuddle but cats don't really like that. Thinking about you - big hugs. x0x0x0x
