A big thank you to the FS Community for their support recently and rallying behind me with some much needed support! Life has gotten pretty rough the last few weeks, with the cherry on top being that my husband was fired last weekend over a trivial thing, which unfortunately is legal in the state of TN. In TN you can be fired for any reason other than your race, sex, or religion. You can literally be fired because your boss decides he doesn't like the color of your shirt and there is nothing you can do about it.
I had mentioned in my last journal entry that it would probably be my last for awhile. Number one, because I was barely able to afford healthy foods to begin with, but now with my husband out of work we'll pretty much be living off or ramen noodles. Number two, because I'm just depressed and don't care so much about dieting right now. BUT, I'm going to do my best to keep exercising and do my best to eat healthy on the budget I have.
I'm still in pity party mode a bit. But not for myself, for my husband. He is so depressed right now because he has not been without a job since he was 16. Literally. The day he turned 16, he got his license and he got a job and has been working in the same industry every since. SO, he was fired from what he likes to do, after 12 years doing it and 6 years with that company, and can never again work for that company or any of it's subsidiaries again because the nature of his termination was a "safety hazard", although he was DOING what they TRAINED HIM TO DO!!! But apparently in recent years they decided it was a safety hazzard, but then didn't pass that information on to anyone. I met my husband at work. I know his work ethic and honestly, I've never met anyone else who is as strong of worker or as dedicated. Yet he, and the other gentlman involved who had been with the company for 13 years was fired.
Honestly, I'm thrilled he isn't working there anymore! This is pretty much how they treat their employees, even their veteran employees and it's ridiculous. I've been wanting him to quit for ages and go back to school for something, but he has never done well in a class room setting so he has been resisting that. I think I've finally gotten him convinced to go to a trade or vocational school. Those are typically a 18 months or less, which I think he would be well suited for as he doesn't want to go to school forever, and he likes to work with his hands and do something construction. An office environment just isn't for him.
Sorry, I know this has been more of a cathartic journal entry than a FS entry. I hope to be fully back on the dieting wagon within the next few days, so maybe my next entry will be a little more uplifting.
Thanks again FS! You guys rock!!! God bless!

That is some tough times! Thinking of you! Try to keep exercising, that will help with the "pity party" as you called it. FS is always here, vent when needed!

Sometimes the worst turns out to be the best. Your hubby may come across something else -- a wonderful position. then sometime soon he will be saying, "Just think. If I hadn't been fired at "Such & Such," I would never have landed this terrific position. It will happen. Keep the faith. With your clever skills you can shop for good, nutritious foods. Keep the faith!

Sorry to hear that. When doors shut sometimes better ones open. I wish him luck.. And you luck with staying healthy. I know how hard it is to not eat or eat when stressed and or having no money. Good luck.
