Day #4 of quitting smoking. I still think about it a lot but I am doing okay with it. I am feeling much better today with the nausea and light-headedness, and my blood sugar was okay after breakfast. I went to the gym and worked out. It's amazing how slow I go on the elliptical since I've turned up the resistance. Today I only went 2850 steps in 28 minutes. Before I turned up the resistance, I was doing 3150 and 3200 steps in 28 minutes. I ran .61 miles again on the treadmill, and that felt great, because I almost halfway talked myself out of it. I went to the bathroom and I was going to come out and say "f-it!", but I just went to the treadmill, and I got on it, and I told myself I could stop at any time. I did the first two minutes no problem, and then 5 minutes, and then I was committed. It's only 9 minutes to run that far, but it's still a long ways for me. I am going to try to do that every day this week, and next week bump up to .75 miles, or 3/4 of a mile. I think that's do-able. I thank everyone who's commented on their support - I know I must sound like I'm a broken record, running these teeny distances over and over again, but it's a big accomplishment for me to run this far - I started out just running for one minute, and now I can do nine minutes in a row. I feel like I'm getting closer and closer to a mile, and once I achieve that, then getting to my goal of two miles at once should be even easier than it was just to get this far. I'm excited, I want to be a runner. I am defrosting some lean hamburger so I can make taco salad for my dinner at work tomorrow. I have been eating a lot of sandwiches and I tend to eat fruit, yogurt and turkey bacon for breakfast. I guess I'm in a rut but I don't care - it has been working for me, and I just have to keep being careful and keep eating the foods I know are safe for me.

Look at you go!!! That is fantastic- and you will never stop talking about the small goals in regards to running because you are always slowly building up your strength, resistance, etc. No one gets up one day and runs a marathon. And you are awesome fore quitting smoking! Love your journal entries- always so motivational <3
