My new goal - that seems to be working - is to eat between 1,200 and 1,400 calories a day and walk at least 10,000 steps a day. It's working right now because it's light out later in the day so I can walk after I get home from work. I have a feeling that I'll have modify somehow later in the year but for now it seems to be working. Of course what I eat also matters and I'm trying to stick to 'whole foods' (i.e. nothing too processed), veggies, lean meats, complex carbs, etc.
