Started Medifast on 5/19. 1st couple of days experienced a great deal of tiredness, dizzy, hungry and the food was almost intolerable - especially the southwest eggs could in a microwave. They were not so bad when cooked on top of stove with teaspoon of olive oil. I acquired a taste for the chicken noodle soup and this is now tolerable after six days into the diet. Actually, this is the 1st day that I have not felt tired but this could have been attributable to a horrible cold and depression from the loss of my father recently, which was very difficult because Mom died about seven months ago.
It has been a challenging time but I'm determine to stick it out. I usuall crave the lean & green meal at lunch but then miss having a real meal with my college girls who are home for the summer. Depending on how well I do in the first week, I may factor in 2 lean & green meals (lunch & dinner) with controlled amounts to stay within the 800 to 1,000 calorie range.
Today, I'm also feeling a bit constipated and now drinking more water to flush out all of the soy that is being absorbed from the replacement meals. I still do not plan to deprive myself because this will cause me to stray from the plan for a longer period of time.
So far -- I'm adjusting to the change.

I felt similar the first few days of the plan.I called my coach and told her how hungry I was. She recommended eating one extra bar if I really needed to but I stuck it out and stayed on plan...before I knew it,I felt great with more energy and not hungry at all. Just stick to the program! Agreed, some of the foods are bad and I hate the southwest eggs too but some of them are pretty good. I like most of the bars, the pancakes, brownie, and the appetite suppression shakes. If you haven't tried them, get the appetite suppression shakes to help with that hunger feeling. Also, if you try a meal and really don't like it, you're allowed to exchange up to ten boxes of food as long as the remaining six packages are not opened. Just call the customer service line and they give you the details and place your new order. I didn't know this at first and wish I would have. Once you do it, it's pretty easy, just do it as soon as possible because it does take a couple weeks to process.
Definitely make sure you're getting your water in to help with dehydration though.I've noticed it helps to drink at least one glass of water with each meal for dehydration and to keep from feeling hungry. I'd save the lean and green to eat with your girls. I feel likeI'm missing out when I don't eat dinner with my husband so it helps if I hold off until then. As for your loss, I'm sorry to hear that. I'm sure you have a lot of emotions going on...that's tough. The Dr. A's Habits of Health book and workbook really have helped me with the emotional aspect of eating and I highly recommend getting them. Stick to it, you'll do great.
