Steroids will be the death of me. I want to eat everything
I am having an allergic reaction to something but we don't know what. I itch from my head to my toe, and really that is not exaggerating, my scalp itches, a between my toes itch like crazy, my legs, stomach,m back, butt, stomach, arms, boobs, yeah they all itch. Benadryl was not kicking the itch because I can only take it at night unless i want to sleep all day and I am pretty sure the boss would be against that.
We went to the doctor last night because I was so itchy i could not get comfortable. The doc put me on steroids. I have not been on them since I was diagnosed as Diabetic and it makes me very nervous. the predisone can completely jack your blood sugars up. Two other side effects I have with Prednisone is irritability and hunger. I get SOOOOO hungry with the steroids and I want to eat EVERYTHING. I am also not able to work out for the next couple of days. UGh, I am going to try not to eat everything in sight today. I am packing my lunch and snacks with lots of carrots, grapes, celery, etc so I don't end up eating the pizza that will be filling my office today :(
Few things I have learned by being itchy everywhere, There is NO good way to scratch the bottom of your feet without making everything else itch. If your eye lids itch DONT try to scratch them while you are doing something else or you will poke your eye. the most effective way to scratch your entire scalp is to flip your head forward and let your hair fall so then it is not getting in your way as you scratch away. Last thing I have learned is there is ONE spot in the middle of your back that your hands can not reach very well to get enough pressure to scratch very effectively, Using a pen works well but be sure to put the cap on before you scratch, but the most effective way to scratch your entire back is laying on the floor without a shirt and squirming back and forth. Yes you look ridiculous doing it but it is amazing.

I've heard that about steriods...I take it its not them kind that pack on the muscle? Hope you find out what is causing this allergy. Oatmeal baths are suppose to be good for reducing itching.

It is not the type that builds muscle, and we did an allergy test 2 years ago but I have never had a reaction to anything like this before. I have an anti itch stuff I just got to put in my bath, Hopefully it will help. I am going to try that as soon as I get home... I am SOOO tired I can barely function today.

Oh no that sounds awful! My sister has been having the same problem lately after never having allergies to food. Taco sauce, salsa and also a raspberry fig bar. We figure it is some wierd spice or a food they are using instead of food coloring. That seems to be a big thing now. Like how they use beets to color strawberry yogurts. Hope you get some relief soon!!

I am so sorry you are dealing with all of this! You have had more than your fair share of health problems. Good for you for bringing good food to the office so the pizza won't tempt you. Sucks you can't go to the gym. You are working really hard, and it just seems like as soon as you get back on track from one health problem, another one derails you for a while. Keep at it!

Oh, sorry that you are in such misery. Nothing worse than an itch that can't be scratched. I have problems with that on my scalp and arms from the sun, due to Lupus. I have found that if I growl while scratching, it makes it so much more satisfying...lol ;) Hope it gets better soon!

I am going to have to start growling as I scratch see if it helps... The steroids seem to be helping because I am less itchy now than I was yesterday or even this morning. I take my next dose at 4 and more benadryl at 6. I should sleep really good again tonight and hopefully since I am able to take it earlier today I won't be so sleepy in the morning

I had to take those from a Poison Sumac allergy a couple of weeks ago. My little sister was also on them for Lupus. Made her weak and causes fat to deposit in strange areas over time. Good luck getting to the bottom of it.
