AND THE GARDEN STILL ISN'T PLANTED...
but it will be today. We decided that the house needed to be cleaned before going out to work in the garden. Spent about 3 hours on it, then headed out to till the bed once more before planting. By that time the sun and wind had done it's job and the soil was the perfect consistency for cultivating. But, once again, the best laid plans.... Moved the lawn tractor and trailer out of the way, grabbed my little cultivator, and pulled it into the garden area. Pulled the rope, and pulled and pulled and pulled, primed the engine with the bulb primer, and finally decided it needed to have the tine area cleaned off, as it wouldn't run. I took the tines off, cleaned off the debris, cut my finger, put the tines back on, pumped the bulb, primed the engine, pulled the rope, pulled the rope, pulled the rope (which, by the way, is a great arm workout...lol), and finally she started. Got into the garden, tilled a plot about 1 foot by 1 foot, and it died. Took it back out of the garden as, once again, it wouldn't start, and discovered the bulb primer had a crack in it, so the fuel line was getting air in it. Tried the old stand-by, duct tape, but that didn't work. So I got in the car, took the instruction manual with the schematic in it to Tractor Supply and bought a new primer bulb, came home, took it apart, installed the new one, and tried again. The thing ran about a minute and died. By this time I am getting a bit irritated, needless to say. Once again, I dragged the thing out of the garden, over to the garage, dumped the gas out of the tank, and discovered that the fuel lines had broken off...both the feed and the return. Now, mind you, I just used this thing for hours on Saturday and it worked like a charm! Well, I was bound and determined I would get it running, so I looked around the garage, knowing that somewhere I had fuel line. Finally found what I needed, installed the new fuel lines, refilled the tank, and got the thing running. By this time it was 6:50 in the evening, and I WAS going to get my walk in, come Heck or high water, so I tilled for about 15 minutes, just to make sure it was going to stay running, and then shut her down for the night. I went for my walk, came home, spread fertilizer, and am heading out in a bit to till it under, and PLANT MY GARDEN!!! YAY...God willing! As I said, if you want to make God laugh, just tell Him YOUR plans! lol
Tomorrow I am going to mom's early to take dad's truck in for the camper shell window repair. It is finally in after 2 1/2 months. Whew! It will take about 1-1 1/2 hours, so need to take something to do. May take my IPAD and play on that while I am waiting, if I can figure out how to log onto the net from a different location. lol I tend to be a bit technically challenged at times. lol
Did well with the food yesterday. Hubby made a nice bottom round roast, and some mashed "faux"tatoes to go with it. I have gotten my daily carb level back up to about 50 total, well within Primal guidelines for weight loss. Now if the scale would start cooperating! Ah, well, it will come off when it is time for it to come off. All in God's time, right?
That's about all the news that's fit to print from my corner...hope all is well in your's!
TTFN!

tglenna, glad you got most of the garden in! I found a new hybrid cucumber that is a bush variety that I planted since space is limited. The Burpee company came out with them. Sure hope they are as advertised. :) Hope your hubby gets the last of the tilling done..have a great rest of your Wednesday!
