MONDAY, MONDAY, MONDAY....
sigh...I planned to get the garden tilled once more today, then get the planting done, but, of course, it rained late yesterday afternoon. And not just a light rain, but a good ol' Missouri gully washer. So, the garden is really, really muddy. I am hoping that with the sun and the wind it will dry out enough to get in there later this afternoon...otherwise, it's going to be tomorrow. I could probably plant, but I would really like to till again before putting the plants and seeds in the ground. Ah well, as the saying goes, "If you want to make God laugh, tell Him YOUR plans!" lol Guess He is having quite the guffaw today.
The pool is finally warming up a bit. It is at about 80 right now, but I won't get in until it is about 90. The temp today is supposed to be about 75, but then warm up quickly for the rest of the week and be in the low to mid 90's by Friday. So that should help warm the pool, then that will give me another avenue for exercise. YAY Going to do a bit of research for some exercises to do other than lap swimming. Food was fine over the weekend. A bit over on the amount of carbs I feel comfortable eating, but overall, not too bad. Think I'll make an orange/chocolate low carb pie today. I have all the ingredients, just need to get off my rear and do it. Hubby loves them, and they are perfect for satisfying the craving for a little dessert. Exercise over the weekend was not very good...no walks either day, but I did get that tilling done on Saturday. Steps however were down, so need to get moving and get those steps back over 10,000. Mustn't start slacking on that or the weight will never move.
Well, that's about all the news that's fit to print from my corner...hope all is well in your's!
TTFN!

I know you must be anxious to get that garden it, but in the long run, a few days won't make much difference. Not much fun working in the mud. Enjoy that pie.

Theres nothing better than gardening. Im sorry about the rain. Here in NC they start earlier than we did in Ind. And to top it off because of the crazy weather they even started a month earlier than usual. I have all kinds of stuff popping up. I am loving it. Only issue is the longer the season the more money I spend on plants lol.

I am anxious, Buffy. I think it is because we have had such a ridiculously long spring, with March being so warm, that I feel like I am "behind". You are right though...a few more days won't make much difference. Thanks! Have a great day!

Karen, I agree about the gardening. Now that I finally have a good area for one, I will really enjoy it. It is within 30-40 feet of the front door. I hear you on the longer growing season though...I am the same way. Enjoy your garden!

We're just the opposite of you on this side of the state . . . dry, dry, DRY! Apparently, my basil plant self seeded last fall. I have baby basil popping up in all of my pots. Funny. I only have two tomatoes planted, a Mr. Stripey and a Rose Brandywine. They're covered with blossoms. I can't wait until they're tomatoes. You wouldn't make it in Maine. The water doesn't usually get above 65. It used to make my feet cramp when I would first put them in the water, but you get used to it. You just have to take the plunge. LOL! Love you.

Hi Stef, lots of rain everywhere I think. The orange/chocolate pie sounds good. I've never heard of such a thing. Hope your DH loves it. And I hope it dries up enough for you to get your gardening in and that it rains enough again to nourish it. Have a blessed day!

Hi Stef, sounds like you are doing good. Sorry you got that rain, we are due some today. Glad it held off until after our long week-end, don't mind rain while I'm at work - lol. Hugs to you both.

Hey, Bonnie!!! That's what Nate (my oldest) was saying. It had been really dry until this last rain on Sunday evening. It sure did help, but already it is drying out. Enjoy that basil, and yes, I wouldn't survive swimming in Maine, although we do float the Black River which is spring fed, but only when the air temps are over 95! lol Have a great week, sweet sister/friend! Love you! HUGS!

Heather, it is back to sunny as of yesterday, and the rain cooled things off quite a bit. I didn't get to make the pie...tiller broke down and I had to fix it. But I did get it running and today is the day that the plants go in the ground. YAY!!! Once it's in, I am sure God will see to it that there is enough rain to nourish it. You have a blessed day, also, my friend! HUGS!

I'm with you Stef....that water needs to be close to 90. But I think my polar bear thermometer must be off because I went in this AM at about 84....according to the bear! LOL!
