I've just lost 42 lbs and I'm at a plateau and holding. I've just this week started a few situps ,stretches, and pushup. I've have crummy knees, so I must be very careful as not to ruin them . I still work as a hairdresser I need encouragement ment to keep on ! It hard and I need a cheer section!

You can do this! It's always hard, but look at how far you've come so far! 42 pounds is a lot to lose and a plateau is not always a bad thing. Walking is a good way to get off the plateau, stretches are always good. And if you're into sit ups, there's a site that's called the 200 sit-up challenge. It's a free site, and it helps you get up to approx 200 sit-ups three times a week. I know you can do this, keep at it!
