I can tell I did not workout all weekend!! :( 2 days off and this afternoon's workout was slow! Hubby and I are going to have a talk! He's not on the same page as me! And its hard being alone in this endeavor. He wants to be healthy, but he went shopping for me for mother's day...and everything he bought, besides the meat, was processed food and bad stuff!! :( This really upset me because the amount he spent on this stuff I could have fresh veggies! He said he was stocking up. But really...I have to eat too! And I get the idea he's not happy with my cooking! Now this is something I'm making up because he did not really say this...but I get this feeling because why would he stock up on all this stuff and only get one container of almonds and 18 eggs he used up immediately! Sigh....I am hoping he really hears me today! I want to be healthy. I want to eat junk too...but not everyday. I want it sparingly! I want our pantry filled with good for you nutrients...fuel!!!!!

Yeah its not easy when you other people living in the same house!!! But we talked and He said that he's proud of me! Because before I would have eaten this food like mad! But now I'm not! So he's seeing a change in me...I think I got scared! I was thinking since he bought all that I would dive right in! But this is not the case!!! :)

Understandable. It take a strong will and lots of self control to keep from splurging, even if you know you shouldn't. Good job! I had to get rid off everything 'bad' in my house, but then my BF was big enough that he agreed we needed to change. Keep up the good work!! You'll be OK!

I can't send my husband to the store because he will come back with the same kinds of foods as yours. I stick to a little rule I made for myself ( and family I guess ) but we don't have unhealthy snacks in the house unless I bake them. I do love to bake so sometimes it can get to be to much but for the most part we don't have cookies, cakes, and things around the house ready to crab and eat. I do like to make a batch of cookies and freeze them. That way I can take one out when I feel like it and ejoy. You have to take one out at a time or you eat them all but then being in the freezer slowes me down, lol. Hope your talk goes well!

It did go well! He was nice and explained things to me! Still I cannot help he's trying to sabotage me....but I control myself! I'll just remember the next time he says he's going to the store...to write and very explained list of what to buy!!!!

To solve this problem at our house, we take turns going to the store. I'll go one week and stock up on lean meats and things like that (we get our vegetables weekly from a CSA). The next week, he'll go and stock up on ice cream and chips and rolls and croutons and muffins and bagels (essentially tons of carbs). Somehow we ended up with 5 bags of chips this last grocery run!
He actually needs all those calories and carbs just to keep his weight up (he is stick thin and works a physical job 60 hours/week), so I don't look at it as trying to "sabotage" me. Sure I like chips, but I'm not going to deny him his chips and needed calories just so I don't get tempted.
I just request items when he goes that don't require a lot of thinking (ie please pick up eggs and tomatoes). I keep the other more complicated items for when I go to the store, like requesting specifically "plain nonfat yogurt" or "95/5 ground turkey" etc. That way, we both get what we want.
